Anyone put general grabber uhp or Toyota versado tires on their ml350
I need to replace the tires on my '11 ML350. I'm looking for a smooth riding, quiet tire, not concerned with snow traction as I'm in Florida. Tire rack hasn't been helpful but I've seen some good reviews on the Toyo and General grabber tire. I'm not looking to break the bank on Continentals or Michellin since I've heard that all tires have a short tread life on this car. The dealer told me the General Grabber is a directional tire that lends to uneven tread wear and pulling as well as being noisy. Of course the co lit said the opposite, that the tire promotes even wear and incredibly quiet comfortable ride. Not sure who to believe on that.
So I'm hoping some of you guys can lend your input into a good, cost efficient tire, whether you've used the Toyo or General tire or something else.

Any suggestions? My Yokohama's are on their last and the ride is quite noisy. Tire rack has such conflicting reviews, just curious what other ML owners are riding on.

Thanks for the reply byte master
I would hate to purchase a full set and hate the tires, hence my seeking input from other owners. I'll be doing some more research on reviews before I pull the trigger.

I have been happy with my Toyo Versado's. They came on my 08 CPO ML320 CDI. I did have to have them balanced a couple of times. But they are fairly quiet and have worn evenly. I cannot attest to the snow issue, as I run dedicated snows

Thanks for the replies
I'm going to try the Toyo's as they have a thirty day ride/try guarantee and I can get a full set installed and balanced for about $975 (I think that's good price, I hope anyway )
Have to get repair work first as someone hit the passenger side rear of the car causing over $1700 damage Had the truck for like 3 weeks so not happy.

Just to update- went with the Toyo's
Figured I'd let you guys know, went ahead and got the Toyo's, just under 2 weeks on now, so time will tell how the tread and performance hold up.

Bought my (used) 2007 GL320 with a set of brand new dealer installed tires on it. Dunlop? Conti? Can't remember.
Anyway, they were down to the wear bars in 20,000 miles. Mostly highway miles too! I got one year out of that set.
Replaced them with Toyo Versado CUV that eveyrone on the GL forum said were awesome.
They are.
Way quieter, much cheaper, and 9 months into it (and almost another 20,000 mi down the road) they look in great shape.. I'd say they still have 50% tread left if not a little more!
WHen these wear out, I'm buying the same tires.
Remember this is for a GL so our truck is harder on tires than the ML as it's heavier. So you should experience even longer treadwear than I do!

Nope, no flat spots at all.
I ran a set of tires from Aug 1 2012 to Aug 1 2013.. exactly one year. Can't remember the brand (as I mentioned in my previous post) but they were something the MB dealer put on right when I bought the truck. Horrible tires.. 20,000 miles and I was replacing the tires a year later and they were completely worn out.
No alignment issues either.. they wore totally evenly. They just wore out.
This Aug 1 I'm going to measure the tread depth for comparison. Technically the tires should be completely worn out based on the treadwear of the previous set.
As of today (with 2.5 months left to go till Aug 1 when the tires are a year old), I would say I have at LEAST 40% treadwear.. possibly 50% or a slight bit more left. That's totally from eyeballing it.
Best tires ever for a GL. Assume they're even better on an ML.

Replaced the oem conti's at 23,000 miles. Local tire guy recommended Grabber UHP. 20,000 miles later I can't stand the noise they make. They still have tread and have worn well but the noise.... makes me wish i could drive my winter blizzaks all year round. Contemplating the Micnelin Latitude or Conti Cross Comtact

Putting Toyo Versado CUVs on my 19s this weekend to replace the terrible, garbage, prop-plane sounding Crap-elli Scrorpions that have 22k on them, and which have been unbearably loud since 10k.
$947 out the door, installed locally. Will report back.
