ML 320 CDI 2007 Glow plug control module
Check engine light came on, had it looked into at the dealer and was told that I need to replace the Glow plug control module. They want $640 to do it with the part being $220 and then 3 hours of labor.
I have been reading around and looking at videos on YouTube and I don't see why they would need 3 hours. I am not a seasoned mechanics by any mean but I have changed my battery on this car and this seems almost as straightforward.
When I asked why they needed 3 hours they said because of the programming. What programming is involved? I didn't see any mention of that anywhere.
A part from reaching the part, it seems as easy as unplug the old one and plug in the new one. Am I missing something?
Any inputs would be very helpful.
Thanks

Had mine replaced in February. It's a straight forward replacement. I could not figure out how to capture and restart the back bolt so had my MB Indy do it.
They charged me $194 for the module and $76 in labor - took about 45 minutes all together.
I've attached a pdf if that helps.
