Let's list the many problems we face on these vehicles that have take dealer forever to fixed

I have an intermittent fuel gauge failure below half tank. Suddenly goes to zero. Stays there until fuel is added above half tank suggesting it is not an intermittent short/open in the wiring. Have added 5 gallons a couple of times without fixing but not knowing how much was in there I eventually filled past half tank. This has occurred 3 times. Had to add fuel before I could get to the dealer who says they can't do anything if its not in active failure or logged in the ECU.

Previously it too multiple trips to the dealer with a CEL resulting in a new AdBlue injector and NOx sensor (under warranty) before they finally found a bad electrical connection.

Can we say, "My first and last Mercedes-Benz" in unison? In 40 years I haven't had this much trouble out of all my vehicles combined. Normal wear and tear exempted.

As of now I have mine in the dealer for a a/c nightmare for over a week it is at the point that again they don't have a clue what's wrong last time it was there there best bet was a bad ecu for a tag of $1,800 but I'm glad I refuse it because even the ecu have some small issues it was not the main problem and finally I found a place to do it for $700 and after that a/c still not working

I'm new to MB and after talking to the people at the local dealer I have come to the conclusion that if it isn't logged on the ECU and there is no warning on the dash they pretty much are useless.

If that's the case I can get my own OBD reader and trouble shout the problem and take it if needed to an Indi.

Fortunately so far everything is running ok.

I believe the tank has two sending units, one specifically for when there is less than half a tank of fuel. So your problem could be some kind of failure of just that unit.

Dealers remind me of the Star Trek Next Gen episode with this race of people, the Pakleds who while somehow managing to rise to the level of interstellar travel, don't actually know anything. They capture 'Jordie' the engineer an hold him hostage to "make it go" when their ship won't go. If isn't a broken rubber band, a dealer won't likely be able to diagnose it.

Thank-you, yes I believe its something like that. That there are essentially two tanks one on each side of the driveshaft. Dealer hinted at something like a transfer pump but I don't find any reference in AllData.

Am hoping for another failure before my extended warranty expires in October. Problem is this only happens about 1 time out of 3 at 400 miles into a 500 mile day.
