ML350 22" Wheels
Hi,
I'm looking at...er...just ordered the below 22" wheels for my 2009 ML350 4matic. I don't know much about offsets and am concerned about them sticking out past the fenders too much- does anyone know if they will? Thanks guys!!! 22x10 offset 50+

Awesome thanks- this width/offset business is confusing! I'll feel better when they are here, on, and I don't have to wonder if it's gonna look right or not.

On the other hand I prefer the flush or even slight "stick out" of the rims. It really comes down to the type of rim and car.
I have mine flush in the front and with 15mm spacers about 5mm out in the back.
Looks aggressive. IMHO.

Wheels: 20x9.5 | 5x112 | Offset: 48 | Hub: 66.6
Tires: 275/45 R20
Front: The fronts sit flush with the top of the fender line. Maybe 1-2mm outside.
Back: I have 15mm hubcentric spacers in the back. The back fender bulges more than the front and I want at the least to have the backs have the same offset to the fender or stick out more. They end result is about 5-6mm outside of the fender line. You would have to take a close look to confirm that they stick out.
The end result make the car beefier and more aggressive.

I just called the place I bought them from (Pioneer Wheels)... They said the wheels won't stick out from the fenders with that offset. They said if I didn't like the way they look on my ride they'll pay for shipping back to Cali. Can't beat that. I'll post up pics Thursday or Friday.
The Petit LeMans is in Georgia this weekend so I'm trying to get everything done before I go!

I had the same wheels in all silver. 22"x10" ratio made the wheels look too skinny. I opted for some factory 20'x10" with 46mm offset, which I thought looked better.
With the 20's
The 46mm offset with the 20x10 ratio makes the ml look way wider than the 22's.

Definitely many more tire options for 20's.
I picked up Minerva XSport F110 275/45/20 for only $400 and I am amazed at how sticky they are and how well they grip. And they are silent.

datl5, the 22's are fine. I think the 2 tone will look better than my all silver, too much bling. Maybe with some 10mm spacers it will look awsome. Also, I had small kids and H&R spring with blown shocks which made me get the 20's back then. If I had the bilstein /eibach combo(which I have now), I would've kept the 22's. Can't go wrong either way. When I saw mine with the 22's, it looked insane. Way better than real life than pics.

That's awesome! I would flip out if I could find some tires for that price. I almost bought some 21" wheels but when I started shopping around for tires realized 21" was not the route for me!

After doing some reading I guess I should go ahead and get that bilstein/eibach combo you mentioned. Part of me wants to see how it sits without lowering just so I'll know!

Sorry for the delay on pics- went to get the wheels installed Saturday at a place I don't know (my regular wheel/tire shop was booked), and after realizing the factory lug bolts were way too long for my new wheels- the dumb kid cross threaded the heck out of one of the lug bolts when he was putting the factory wheels back on. So I ordered some shorter lug bolts but I'm running on one less lug bolt at the moment. The place said they will "tap"/rethread the hub for free when I come back- but it still makes me mad. Thinking of not going back and letting my regular shop do the repair...I'm wondering if it's gonna give me problems every time I try and rotate my wheels.

This morning I left the ML at the place I normally use and like: Tire South in GA. They are gonna measure for the correct size lug bolts and fix the previous shop's mishap. If it looks like it needs to be lowered (which I'm sure it will) they said they could go ahead and order/install the Eibach lowering springs.
Hopefully the new wheels will be on by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest! I'll post pics ASAP

Hey guys, this is why I love that tire shop- way ahead of schedule they got my lug bolts ordered and delivered, balanced my wheels/tires (I told them they were already balanced but they double checked it just to be safe, and ended up making some corrections), repaired the cross threaded hole in my hub, took some photos of a few blemishes that came on the wheels, and got them installed.
Let me know if you guys think I should lower!
