Hi

I have a ML280 W164, which had some water damage to the rear SAM, which has now been repaired. Both front electric seats are not working before and after repair. I have checked the fuses and Relay K for voltage with IGN off, ON and with the vehicle running, but I have nothing reading. Can you advise of the next step to resolve this?

Many Thanks

I did swap them back then. It was when I swapped back that the other seat, the driver's side, also stopped working. So the fore/aft function is not working on both seats now with their original modules on both seats, when the fore/aft button is pushed there is only a buzzing noise but no movement. All other moves function well; like the leaning of the back, up and down of the seats, and even the headrests function well. It's only the fore/aft function that is acting up.
Thanks,

How did you fix the rear SAM problem?

Did you replace both tail lamp seals?

When a towbar had been fitted a bolt had been left out where it was near the SAM. A recent very heavy downpour caused water into the area. A bolt has been fitted and no further leaks.

Did water water get into the spare tire area?

What is the location of these modules?

No, only the area where the SAM is located.

Did you take the covers off of the SAM and looked at the electrical board for corrosion?

The module. in the front of the seat and closest to the door
Just noticed that there's only module under the seat.

The SAM had water damage and I removed the unit and opened to check for any damage. I cleaned the unit myself, but this did not resolve the electric seat problem, so I had it checked by a local mechanic who confirmed it was most likely the SAM. I then sent it off to an Auto electrical repair company in the UK who have repaired and tested the module from the water damage and provided a warranty.

Did you replace the tail light seals? If you didn't, then water entry will occur again.

Do you have a scanner to check for codes in all modules?

Hi

The gasket's do not need replacing, as they have been checked and the leak was confirmed from a bolt hole left open next to the SAM module. I do not have any voltage to the Relay (K) or the fuses 27 & 28 for the electric seats, with IGN off, on or when the car is running. Is there another Relay elsewhere?

Regards

With the eng. running in PARK or driver's door open with key out of ign., check fuse #66 in Load Comp. Fuse Box.

Major,
Not sure if you're addressing this message to me. If it is to me, there's no fuse 66 on my ML500. Thanks

You probably do not have that fuse because it only applies to U.S. wiring diagrams.

Things would be much easier if you had a scanner to read codes.

Please post your full vin#.
