is that the number off the black plastic face that houses the electronics and receives the plug? most of the ones I have seen have 545 as the second set of numbers

If you are getting the 5967 I would have thought it would be the same

I was able to just change the motor, had to flex the rear cover away to get clearance to remove and undo but not sure if the cover is the same on a w251

Sorry - the code I am referring to is on the black plastic face, on the first photo the plastic face can be seen to the right (the black face faces towards the front of the car in the ML, assume same) - assume motors are the same for them all??? unsure??

In any case it sounds like the motor - I just used a 2nd hand one from EBAY

Maj Dundee said something about brushes being worn but I could not work out how to change them - I think the 2nd photo has the motor shown

How far has your car gone?

After 11-12 yrs. of use the brushes in the motor wear down.

And you still never provided your vin# as requested.

There are only 3 fuses which power up the ESP Cont. Module. See post #5 for fuse locations.

With the key on check the following fuses with a test light. Do not pull fuses to check them. See video.

No, the pump does not have to be programmed.

Looking from the top of the engine, look to see if the Hydraulic Pump could be moved 5 inches to the rear.

If the brake lines are not in the way then you can probably do it. You will have to remove the motor from the bottom after removing the left front wheel well liner.

Remove the two bolts to the motor and make a mark on one side, so when you reinstall it, the bolt holes will be correctly aligned.

Please read this multi post thread on the subject and decide if you are capable of performing the repair.

Thanks.....so after scanning it again i also noticedd another error code and have the flap broke in the intake manifold...apparently i gotta change too" .. ...would the car breakdown if i decide not to change or repair the flap on the intake manifold ? im already repairing this Abs pump and 3 weeks ago i had to change the Fuel pump and that was $550+ in parts and Labor...so i dont feel like wasting more money if i dont have to'
