08 ML 320 towing package
I just tried to hook up my trailer to my 08 ML 320. This is the message I get on my screen. Does anyone know what is wrong. The lights work when I apply a 12 volt independent source.

As I said the lights on the trailer work ,it is when I try to hook up the trailer to my car this is the message that comes up and no lights.

Did you apply 12v to the trailer hitch connector while it was connected or not to the main harness?

No, I am aware of the Led issues that are caused with them. Both the trailer and vehicle have incondesant lamps.

What error codes are in the Rear Sam?

The dealer will charge you approx. $175 to read the codes. For $50 more you will never have to go to the dealer again and you can read your own codes.
