oil leak

hey there, been noticing little oil drips on floor -2009 ml350 4matic.

looked underneath from front , drivers side. attached is a picture of a pump??? i think? - that seems to sit on top of what might be the oil pan. i was able to take a photo where i think the oil is coming out. there is a pulley on the front of this part, which facing front of engine, would be bottom right, driver side...not sire what it is. seems difficult to get to.

hope someone might know...just looking to get an idea before i take it
to shop.

thanks for any insight

Yes, there is oil in the system.

Which is it?

the larger inlet or outlet pipe. maybe it could be the power steering pump?

I was told by my mechanic here in Germany that it is common to see oil leak from the AC compressor. Mine is just a few drops so he said not to worry about it now.

So wipe the underside of the PS pump with a clean rag.

Exactly, he did just that, and told me he'd look at it the next time I brought it in for scheduled service.

From the top, examine the pulley wheel bearing carefully.
