Hi Everyone,
I've got a new ac compressor to replace the old one. I need to drain the manufacturer's oil and add new oil, which according to the manual, has to PAG. My question is would any PAG like the one attached do? And also how do I find how much I have to add. Thanks.
On the manual for my ML500, it is mentioned that the
For the W163, it is PAG 46. If only replacing the refrigerant compressor, 20 cubic cm (20 ml) is required. Additional may be required depending upon which portions of the ac system are replaced. e.g. if condensor is replaced also, add an additional 20 ml PAG oil. Info is out there.
Thanks Major.
I need further help if you would please. On the Bleed picture, is it a bleed screw. It is capped with soft foil. Do you have any explanation for it. Also on the Tag picture, it says "oil already added"; does it mean I don't have to drain the oil and add fresh new oil to it. The sellers seems to be unaware of this!
And lastly, would you happen to have the instruction for this oil addition to new compressors. The quantities I find are all over the place.
Thank you for your help. Always there to help. It is indeed appreciated.
The bleed plug, as you call it is a High Pressure Relief Valve. The foil is a dust cover. Leave it alone.
Here is the PDF for draining and refilling the A/C system. The amount of oil depends on what part/s are being replaced. Scroll down to highlighted section.
I have the suspicion that you intend to do this yourself and strongly suggest that you have it done professionally. The entire system must be evaluated of all moisture, after which the refrigerant and oil are injected into the system, all done with a machine.
Right now I just want to install the compressor to be able to install the v belt to mobilize the car to take it to the shop for the proper process.
Regards
It says on the tag, shown on the attached photo, "Oil is already added". Just wondering if it's added for transportation or if it's actually added so I won't have to add oil anymore.
How sensitive is the quantity of oil? I just need it to last about 20 minutes drive to the shop.
Thanks,
The compressor will not be operational because there will be no refrigerant in the system, so the veh. can be driven. Make sure your mech. deletes all codes stored in the AAC Control Module before operational check.
Remove the oil from the new compressor and the mech. will add the proper amount.
