HELP.... Maybe EIS?

I'm looking for any glimmer of hope in my own dismay of purchasing this car..... 2010 ML350 80,000 miles. Drives perfect, not a single warning light, except a headlight change last week. Drive the car daily, brought it home, parked it as I normally would. Get in it 30 minutes later, and nothing. key turns, no noise, no dash movement or lights outside when door opens. Key fob unlocks car, opens windows, trunk.
After lots of reading and looking around, my husband has tried the fuses he could find, checked the battery, added new battery to key fob, looked at the EIS, (added it to the freezer) but also didn't see any damage as has been stated in previous threads, and prayed to all the Gods asking for forgiveness.
My questions.... Has anyone had success with ordering a new key from the dealer and that being the problem? We were planning on ordering an extra anyways, now it stings, with the looming EIS expense over our head. Second question anyone sent their EIS to SpeedoFix in CA and had successful repair for $289?
If anyone has any words of advice go ahead and pass it on.... Thanks!

Thank you! Yes we’ve read over that specific thread a lot. Unfortunately my husband doesn’t see anything on the eis to clean or repair. He’s going to try again.

The fine debris I found was hardly noticeable on the clear plastic lens and the infra red receptor chip. Just take a Q-Tip and gently swab both areas. That's all it took for my issue to go away.

Checked all fuses including that one. But thank you for the suggestion.
We ordered the new key today. Praying that works. If not then we’ll have to look at getting it towed to the dealer

Where did you get the key from and did it have a coding card with it?

So if your key , unlocks the doors, hatch, opens the windows with holding the button, Does that still mean the key could be "broken" ? 2011 350 bluetec ml . Turn key. Nothing. Lights on, everything works except when I turn the key. Does that still mean it could be the key? Tried the EIS tricks, froze it. Took it apart. Cleaned it. ( no broken 3 pin connector) no dice. Ordering a key today and praying. I just bought this ml to replace np w163 ml55 thanks in advance
