Tire Pressure Measurement Inoperative
Any idea why 1 new one would shut the system down?
In addition, I've changed out the Command Unit with an AVINUSA 9" display so some of the steering wheel controls may not work the same as with the Command Unit. When I put the key in the second position, bring up the TPMS on the dash, reset - noting changes to the message that the system is inoperative. When I press the + button the volume on the head unit goes up, but nothing changes in the dash readout.
Can a shop read the transmitters and/or reset the system without the OEM Command Unit?
I doubt you can reset the TPM without the steering wheel buttons working.
Find a tire shop and ask them to reset the system. They will have a generic scanner to do so.

It seems to me that the wheel sensors are working fine as all 4 are sending a signal. When the system fails, all 4 wheels are missing. This seems to indicate a module failure to my untrained mind. According to the wiring schematics matching my VIN number the module is in the rear cargo area. My question is this:
Where in the rear cargo area?
I took off the panel on the right side and did not see anything matching what I believe the module looks like. Can someone tell me where the module is located? I can go about replacing it if I can find it.
I found this on the schematic: "TPM CONTROL MODULE (ML-CLASS: RIGHT SIDE OF CARGO AREA) "
Then the brown wire goes to this: "(BEHIND TRIM, LEFT REAR OF CARGO AREA)" "CIRCUIT 31 LEFT WHEELHOUSE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTOR CONNECTOR"
Thank you.
