OEM Xenon Headlights into Halogen car HELP!

Hello everyone. I searched and read somewhere that xenon headlights are plug and play on my 09 ml320. I’ll I believe I read it on this website.
Well, I pulled the trigger and bought a set of OEM mercedes xenon headlamps off eBay. But low and behold, when I tried to install them this evening, there isn’t a harness to plug into the xenon lights. The halogen lights have 3 separate connectors going to each light, and the Xenon, needs 4.
is there by any chance the 4th connector hidden somewhere on my car? Like, does MB make the same harness for both cars to keep cost down, and just cap off the Halogen cars? Please tell me there’s a way here. I took some pix but they are of poor quality.

See if this helps. You will need a conversion kit.

Is the plug missing on the halogens going to an electric motor on the Xenon assembly? If so, it is for self leveling so with proper aiming it can be left disconnected.

Well I plugged the body harness into the halogen connector part of the xenon headlight, and left the other connector unplugged. I didn’t try plugging into it, because even though it was still a four pin, it was a little wider and so I don’t think it would have fit...

yes my old halogen lights have a blank plug there, where as on the xenon headlights, there are pins coming out of the housing connector.

I did the conversion on my 2006, you need to order the connector, and two extra ground wires. The automatic leveling works different with xenons, so that’s disconnected. I can send you the schematics if you want, or show you the pinout.

Why bother with Xenon, and error codes

My 2008 ML550 came with Xenon low beams. I recently converted from Xenon to LED after one of the Xenons burnt out. The LEDs give much brighter light and have 10x the bulb life. My Osram Xenons were rated at 2,500 hours versus the LEDs at 25,000 to 30,000 hours. The LED bulbs are about the same price as Xenon, so you will save a lot of money over the life of one LED bulb. Also, it is so easy to change from a H7 halogen to a H7 LED (I changed the H7 high beams from halogen to LED, plug and play, and there were no error codes). I can almost guarantee that changing from halogen to Xenon will give you error codes on your dash.

Changing from Xenon to LED has given me a problem with error codes. The LED conversion kit was from DZG, but they have not been helpful with the error code problem. I tried 2 different decoders, but neither worked. I measured the current draw to be 3.35 Amps. Given 14 Volts, this would equate to a resistance of 4.2 Ohms. Does anybody know what the Xenons' resistance is? I should have measured before doing the conversion!! Or is there a way of reprogramming the computer to not throw the error codes (I have an Autel Maxisys Pro)?
