My best tires have been the Michelin Premier LTX.

I'm putting tires on the first time since buying my car last month. I ordered some Falken Azenis FK510's, they seemed to be a good option. I'm going to be installing them in the next week, I'll report back.

Curious to know how they are. My Falkens were supposed to be ready yesterday after a weeks wait. They called me this am saying there was a order mixup so Ill have yo have them installed Friday. My continentals are down to 3/32 and I have a humming sound coming from them. I hope its not the bearing.

I had ordered the Falkens, and there was a issue with them ordering 2x in the 2 weeks I was waiting. Then I got told they discontinued them at Falken. They asked if they could match tires in town, but they only had 2. One of them being the Continential DWS 06. They tried to meet about halfway so I got them for $230 each which is great. The ride feels much better and way more smooth. I haven't given it enough time to fully get a opinion but first impressions are good. I still have some humming sound, however I suspect now it might be related to the diff, so I'm going to do a fluid change with royal purple in the next week. I hadn't previously thought of that. The car was at the dealer for the 80k maintenance and I had them check the bearings, and they said they were all fine. I don't think the diff fluid had ever been changed on the car looking back at the history.

Got mine installed. First thing that i liked that it was made in Japan big plus!!! Don't like anything that is made in China. Tires look great, i expected them to be little wider at 295 but they the same as my 285 Goodyear was.
little on the noisy side but not bad at all. For the price of $780 with tax and $72 mount and balance i think is great.
I do have some humming noise as well, on the front, guessing its the bearings, do have 105K miles on it and don't think it was replaced. Probably will drain the front diff oil as well what gear oil should i get?

Yeah I'm not sure what to expect with these cars if there is typically a noise because of how wide the tires are. Mine only has 76k miles, I don't personally expect for bearings to go out after just that amount of miles. I may tackle my front diff in the next few days. The back wasn't too bad using ramps and elevating the front to make it level. I have never replaced diff fluid on a car myself before and it wasn't bad.

As long as you have a pump its nothard to do.Uncomfortable but nothing to it when you have free time.
Did my front diff today. Fill plug bolt was loose, i unscrew it with my fingers but it didn't leak and all the fluid was there i was surprised.
Wile at it i did the rear diff no problems there. I used Mobil1 75/90
Then i decided to do transfer case, drained the oil and to my surprise i got out of there about half of quart of oil If i remember good on my ML55 W163 transfer case took about 1 and a half quart.
i am guessing that was way too low on oil and that is where humming noise was coming. Hope my transfer case is not a toast. Will fill it up tomorrow or Monday, will let you know how much oil it took.
Tranfer case take same as tranny oil right?

Whats the best way to change the transfer case fluid? I don't really have a good flat surface. I have my ramps I change my diff on and drove the back on my driveway and tried to use a level. Do you try to use jackstands all the way around? I wish I had a lift.
