2008 ML350 Driver Side Mirror Jammed
Hi Everyone,
This car has been standing still for some time now. I've been doing some odd maintenance on it like changing oil, running the engine for a while to keep the battery alive, etc. But I just found out that driver side mirror is now jammed and doesn't move in any direction at all. There's a buzz noise for every direction but no movement. First there was a slight movement and I tried some heat and gentle push with my hand; but that only made it worse such that it stopped all the movements. Any thoughts ang guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks.

That is an after market blind spot mirror. I attached that years ago, and the mirror has been working fine with it for years.
2- "Does the entire mirror fold in to the door glass?"
No, the entire mirror has folded away from the door, as seen on the picture and is stuck there. Not sure if that answered your question.

With the key out of the ign., force the mirror towards the door window until there is an opening and liberally spray WD40 on the pivot point. Then manually work the mirror back and forth and see if it worked.
