Sloshy Sloshy?! Water in the frame of the vehicle? Where are the drains?
So, living in Oregon these days by the coast.
LOTS of rain in the winter.
We have a few issues with the 06 ML lately,
and one is that we hearing water sloshing around in the frame below the doors.
I'm guessing the drains are plugged. Where should I be looking?

The sloshing water you hear is located in the tailgate flooring, There are four drain plugs on the flooring but they do not have holes in them.
You must remove the rear-end door floor and then remove the spare tire and all the other equipment until you see the metal floor and the drain plugs..

That's my plan for today. Read a ton of threads on this.
The funny thing is I'd swear it sounds like it's in the unibody sections below the passenger door.
You can hear it moving up and back in long waves. Nobody mentions that.
But I'll know later today. Thank you.

Ok, got into it.
Pulled all the crap out of the back, pulled the spare etc.
Tiny bit of water under there. Just an oz or 2.
checked the sides where the tail lights are.
Lightly damp, no puddles.
Checked under the passenger seat, battery compartment,
mostly dry, slightly damp in a couple spots.
No smoking gun puddles of water.
Cleaned windshield drains, and poured water...came out from the bottom of vehicle.
Poured water in sunroof drains, came out the bottom in the front AND the back.
So...what the heck? Thing is sometimes it doesn't want to go into reverse and
I thought it might be water related. But hmmm.....

Even if you have a small amount of water in the tailgate flooring, you must replace the rear tailgate seals.
Also clear the drainage holes in the eng. compartment.

So, never got the sloshy thing sorted out.
Pulled all the plugs under the car, some water came out.
Also heard there are plug under the plastic wheel house covers
and I have not gotten around to checking those.
And I'll check doors, if I ever get around to fixing this thing.
