Diesel ML
Looking at a diesel ML and diesel Tourareg. I have had a ML320 and ML500 and a V-8 Touareg. Thinging about going to a Diesel. With MB discounts, both are approximately the same price. Any suggestions as to option to look for on the ML.

It really depends on what's important to you. Base car is good, but Airmatic, Premium packages, sound, Nav, 19" wheels, etc. are all available depending on desire and what you want to spend.

If the price is about the same I would personally go with the ML since it is a luxury brand name compared to a VW.
The ML would likely have a higher resale than the VW as well as more reliable.
Check at the VW forum and see how reliable the Taureg TDI is and test drive both.
The new ML will be much improved both exterior and interior and Mercedes Diesel is a well proven drive train.

I chose the wrong one, the toureg is a much better deal. The Toureg, or however you spell it, is essentially a well-equipped Porsche Cayenne. I know I know I know the ml has a quality badge but that's about it. For the 60k fully loaded price of the Executive its a steal.
