Anyone get the chome option?
Picking up my new 2012 ML350 tomorrow. I got the black on black.
Dealership asked if I wanted the chome package. I declined. I assumed it's just one of those pricey dealer add ons. But I'm curious...anyone got it?

Opinions?

I'm unfamiliar with any chrome "package," but there is a chrome handle you can attach to the tailgate. $29 (U.S.) accessory. Keeps your fingerprints from getting all over that nice shiny black paint.

there are some optional chrome gills for the vent on the hood, that might be it? its in the ml brochure

There are two OEM chrome items that you can get on the ML. Chrome Hood Fins and Chrome Door Handle Inserts. Chrome Door Handle Inserts, set of 4 (Part # A1667600000) and Chrome Hood Fins, set of 6 (Part # A1668800082). In my option, the door handle inserts look great, especially on your Black ML, they are about $90. I have never seen the Chrome Hood Fins.

Both options look great on the ML, have yet to see it on the new one but I assume the same for the current model as well. We are going to get the chrome hood fins when we get our ML.

Does anyone know how the chrome pieces for the hood slats attach? Do they just pop in, or do they have a self-adhesive backing, or does one have to glue them on?

My car was shipped to me today from Syracuse. My color is the obsidian black. I had them put on the 4 chrome door handle inserts this morning. I will wait to see further postings regarding the hood fins. Thanks for the suggestion...Frank
