That stinks, this thread is over a year old. You would think that MB would have found a fix for this already and applied it to the 13's.

My car is leased so I am not that upset because I will never own it outside the warranty. Still not thrilled, I am hoping it will go away for the warmer months.

FWIW, I won my lemon law case for this issue. MB never could get rid of the bucking. Now my understanding is that the 2013 does not have this issue. I think they changed some hardware and also revamped the computer programing.

My experience is that MB won't fix it. I believe that they can't fix it without some major labor charges in changing some hardware. Plus the programing would not meet the emissions rating for the 2012 model year if they put the 2013 software in it.

So either live with it or lemon law. I did the latter.

I think Hutch300 would tend to disagree with MB, he has a 2013 so it hasn't been fixed.

Unless early production 13's still had the problem and it was corrected in vehicles produced later?

Just a guess.

Had my b/t at dealer in sept for 10000 mile service and they also did a software upgrade for the hesitation. As far as I can tell they fixed the problem. I probably just jinxed myself though.

So maybe there is hope for the BT owners. How many miles have you driven since software upgrade?

4,000 miles and no bucking that's great, hopefully MB found a fix. I hope it stays this way for you

Mine was just in the shop for four days for something else and now it needs to go back for this update... oh well

Do you think they will do the update right away or keep the car to reproduce the bucking... might have to call up the dealer

Oh and I had a mid November production date

I understood that they fixed it in the 2013 model. But I guess I am mistaken.

Just to be clear, that transmission update was just something the dealer discovered that was applicable to my 2012 ML diesel. No reason given, and so not necessarily connected to the stumbling. The fix that resulted is more like circumstantial evidence than proof that it solved the problem.

What we really need is a classic carburetor "choke," which was used in ancient days to manually enrich the fuel mixture. Start-up enrichment went out, though, when pollution controls came in. I've always suspected that the ML diesels are overly "leaned-out" when cold to pass the federal certification test. If it happens to affect driveability, TS!

Yes, TS......for Mercedes. Can you say lemon law?
