A couple of questions - mirror glass and turn signals

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows where one can purchase a driver's side aspherical mirror for the ML? Is one even available? I have an old W163 as a second car, and switching between vehicles makes one really miss the larger glass.

Also, do Canadian models have amber rear turn signals, or red like the US version?

Thanks,

Mark

The Canadian ML has red rear turn indicators, sadly.

Agreed! I much prefer the more distinct amber indicators. I raised this with Steve Cannon (then VP Mktg at MBUSA) and he responded that even Cadillac had moved to red. I couldn't believe the response. Benchmarking to Cadillac!

There was talk of updating the standards for North America to require amber based on the findings of a semi-recent safety study. Here's hoping.

Yellow vs. Red turning lights.

Red blinkers are stupid - we might as well all be color blind.....

Just an update; browsing through the forums, i found a place in the netherlands that can source european parts like mirrors (and possibly taillights).

Cost? 300 Euro for a heated dimmable aspheric mirror. Plus shipping.
Cost for a non-dimmable mirror? 65 Euro. Scared to even ask what taillights go for.

Post or PM me the source. The price sounds in line with what I found with my M3.

Per Markled, this is the source: MBenzNL.com. You can search this forum regarding Steve. Most reports seem positive, though there has been an issue or two not necessarily in his control.
