MY 13 start up
As posted in another thread, MY12 orders are over as of this Wednesday, and MY13 production will start mid-June. https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...n-shutdown.pdf

2013 E350 Wagon, prev 2005 ML 500 SE
thanks
thanks, good info from you---as always.
As usual, the "red headed stepchild" (E 350 Wagon) is left out.
My dealer said they just periodically do a wagon build as the volume is so small.
Last word was there would be June wagon build of last 2012s with July delivery and then July build of first 2013 wagons with Aug US delivery.
Please post if you ever get any info on the E wagon build schedule.
Thanks Greg
I'm debating between ML and E wagon. Have owned two MLs but leaning toward E Wagon, with ML Bluetec a close second.

'15 GL350 Bluetec
But in the end the cargo volume of the ML won out, along with the factory hitch that allows us to put our bikes on the back (vs. up top). Another big factor was that the wagon is not available (here) as a Diesel.
So, FWIW, that's an abbreviated version of our deliberations.

'12 vs '13
Hedged my bets. I've got a 6/5 build for a '12 w/ Handling, Lighting, Pano and much more. But, it will come while we're gone to Spain for 3 weeks late June, so I have a 2nd preorder under my wife's name (SA is on board) for a '13. I'm strongly leaning toward the latter, though I know I'll lose the Active Curve System. I'm awaiting further info on options, price and schedule for the final decision.

ML vs E Wagon
I too have had the same deliberation - for me the wagon is appealing because it is a "car", not an SUV. Plus, the rear-facing third row allows the accommodation of 6 people, handy for when the grandparents visit.
But in the end the cargo volume of the ML won out, along with the factory hitch that allows us to put our bikes on the back (vs. up top). Another big factor was that the wagon is not available (here) as a Diesel.

I'm hoping and wishing (but not really expecting) that MB offers Bluetec wagon for 2013. 10% chance???
Gasser wagon is right up there with ML Bluetec on hwy mileage but Bluetec wagon would be amazing!!
I'm trying to decide if Wagon cargo volume is enough. I need my bike inside, on back or top will not suffice.
I do like the view of traffic (higher up) in the ML.
I love the E Wagon but the ML is also very appealing.

Road, MTB, CycloX, Track, c'mon, I'm in suspense!
Unfortunately, we most often find ourselves with our kids (and all their stuff) so the bikes end up on top (wagon) or behind (ML). I agree its not ideal, but it's better than not having the bike!
On top, I wrap the cockpit, so it stays bug free.
OK, sorry everyone, back to our regular programming...

Ive already seen a few '13s come through although they may not be customer cars. I do know some of them are test vehicles. Usually the last week in June before shutdown is when the '13s start and the '12s end.

I cannot seem to retrieve a picture from "my pictures" ....
I have a Serotta Ottrott, combination carbon fiber and Ti frame with HED wheels and Shimano Dura Ace 7900 groupset. It needs to travel inside. It's only my wife and me so backseat is always folded down.
ML or E wagon would work for me.
There is so little E wagon inventory that I'd need to build and we're so close to 2013 that I'd probably build a 2013--unless the ML wins me over.
Back to 2013 build schedule. Thanks for the info on 2013 build schedule---which sounds like it is subject to change.

E Wagon production timelines are the same as the E Sedan. There is a 0% chance of a BlueTEC wagon for MY13.
