GAS MILAGE

I know, its a GM blah, its a caddy...blah blah.
Before, my fiance slapped me into reality I was looking at high performance sports cars. I had a 06 Dodge Charger @ 600 hp.
I wanted something that handled better and more reliable.
I looked at the Corvette, AMG C-class, and E, 911 Turbo, BMW M3, M5, and almost everything fast under 120K.
The CTS-V was hands down the best car for the dollar. It was luxury it was powerful, and just damn nice. Any true sports car guy will give the caddy the props it deserves.
I like the 911 Turbos the best, however backseat was way too small, it was the fastest, 0-60 it 2.8 secs. Crazy fast. Name brands don't matter 120K worth to me and I was not able to pay that much mostly for the name. I really don't care that much about luxury truthfully. I could drive a Hyundai and be freak great. Also, 911 is bigger than the Corvette - a lot of people think the 911 is a small car and its really not that small. I am 6'6 275 lbs.
I love the Caddy...then my fiance said okay what about the kids and 4wd?
Today there is a ML350 in the garage. We are happy.

What I meant was
At the end of he day we are arguing over something small, trivial & unimportant. Health, happiness & family is always first. Sounds like you got all that, so your blessed man and that's what's really important.

When I first found out we were expecting, I went over board (overreacted) with trying to save money. My fiance put me back in place, and let me know to calm down. I was always the kind of person to have everything paid off (other than house) before we had a child. So I was trying to continue that by just buying a cheaper SUV and paying it off.
If I really needed to get rid of it, it would have been gone by now.

Understandable. I have two little ones, they aren't cheap but worth every cent we spend on them. My wife was 6 months pregnant when I quit a long term job making $200k a year to start my own business. Some might have called me crazy but it was the best move I ever made.
Good luck with the pregnancy.

Thanks 2012MLBlue. This is a very important time in my life and its good to know that people reassure that everything is going to be okay. I have been waiting for this all my life and sometimes situations like you mentioned above will workout in the end. We have been thinking of starting a business "ideas", not sure where to start.
Maybe after I prove the 30 mpg, you can trust me and can help down the line...lol
By the way don't worry about the gas money.

I just turned 46k on my 09 ML350. I reset the second trip odometer about 8k ago. According to the MPG display I have averaged 18.9 MPG. Most of my driving is around 40 miles per day and consists of half city half highway. I just came back from a trip of approx 650 miles. Mostly highway. Some back roads that allowed me to open it up a bit. I averaged 22 round trip. I run 91 octain as that is the highest available in my area. On the trip back I filled up with 93 as it was available and the same price as 91. I was curiousntomsee if the mpg would be better and the performance. Did not see any MPG boost or a performance boot either. However, I am not sure that one tankful of 93 is going to make a difference.
