Mercedes, Weathertech or Coco Mats
The time has come to make a decision! I live in New England. Needless to say, there's typically a bunch of snow on the ground here in the winter. So the question I'd like to pose is, "Which mats protect the carpeting the best?" I've read a number of posts from a while back and the responses to my question are numerous and inconsistent. I'd like to ask this group's opinion.
The Coco mats are gorgeous, but may not have what it takes to do the job. Some have commented that the MB mats are not robust. Others suggest the Weathertech rear mats are not custom fit to the ML, but in the pictures I've seen, look very well made. Your thoughts?

We've had MB Rubber Mats in our ML since 1999 and they are holding up very well. Only slight shiny areas on the parts that are stepped on the most but it really protect the factory carpet underneath.

Drivers analysis: (C) The Drivers side snaps onto the provided MB buttons in the floor, provides no coverage when the Left foot rests. This carpet area gets dirty and wet. I drove with the MB factory mats in place under the WT, but, I didn't think it was "safe." The WT was shifting around. So I sacrificed the carpet for safety. understandably

Passenger side: (C) there is almost 4-6" of less coverage than the factory mats at the front most portion of the foot-well. I left the factory mats on underneath for added protection and "soft/padded" feel under the WT. (no accelerator to worry about on this side)

Rear analysis: (A+) Fantastic and precise fitting. No snaps, but the fit is so excellent no problem here with mvmt. Even when I drop a cup of coffee or spill anything. Perfect coverage of the center segment that is left completely exposed by factory set. (This is a MUST BUY)

Cargo Area: (B-) Shifts around and the fitting is B-grade at best. It will be useful for groceries and such that may leak? Dirt from shoes and boots washes off easily. Dogs slide around, but easy to clean. (Not necessary if you don't actively use the trunk). May become trapped in the auto trunk if it slides outward when removing cargo. Not a good design.

I have my mb rubber mats but I just think they are alright. They do the job but with the snow it melt and The water don't have anywhere to go so it might have a chance to leak into the car orginal carpet. From the look of it I like the weather tech better cause at the end of the carpet it has a sidewall about a inch up which will trap the water from going anywhere but inside the carpet and protect your carpet.
