2013 ORDER ISSUE - Dealer Cant Confirm?
Ok,
Have a 2013 ML 350 Gas (Ordered in NY, USA) Scheduled for Early July Build
Asked dealer to confirm following issues (and see the response):
1 - Want to ensure Black Headliner with Auburn/Black Leather Int. (Dealer=the black headliner should be standard with that interior color selection)
2 - Premium Package now shows no Ambient Lighting and lighted door sills plates, do I need to alter order to get those options?(Dealer=they should still be included, but memo says they may be stand alone combo item, will see if we can find out.
3 - MBTex Dash in either black or brown MBTex? (Dealer, Brown only available with designo option, very expensive, follow up But isn't MBtex dash a $300 option on the ML350 ?? I don't think it's available)
4 - Is the passenger seat memory available as a separate option without the rear seat entertainment pkg? (Dealer =Not to my knowledge, still part of rear seat entertainment pre wire pkg, not available separately).
Can anyone confirm these issues?????

2) 876 was listed as part of P01 in the April dealer order guide, but things can change.
3) Have your dealer check the Special Order list. U09 is a $300 (+ 1-time $250 SPC charge) option according to the April dealer order guide.
4) Passenger seat memory (#242) according to the original MY13 dealer order guide is standard on the ML63, but not otherwise listed as available (that may be in error).
It's frustrating how availability on a lot of the options is constantly changing. You can't tell from one month to another what you can get. MB has rampant supply chain issues, it seems to me.

My order just got placed yesterday for a July build/August delivery.
3) My sales guy told me the MB Tex Dash was coming up with a delay that could shift delivery to at least September.
4) My order includes the Power Passenger seat with Memory and not the Rear Seat prewire.

Basically, the demand for this vehicle far outweighed MB's expectations and they are not only having parts availablity issues...its a time issue. Take the MB-Tex Wrap Dash option...they are having delays and I was told they will be removing that option not because of a lack of thread, but because it take time in the factory. Say this process adds 30min to the build...multiply that by 5,000-10,000 cars and they are way backed up. My 2013 order was the first one placed at my dealership in Dallas (which is the largest dealer in the country) and I just received an official build and confirmation of my order...this was initially said to be built in July for August delivery...according to the dealer. Now the officially confirmed build date is 3rd week of September and I am apparently lucky to be getting everything I ordered:

I notice you have ordered Active curve. I was told this was not available until a build date of September. Could this perhaps be the reason for your delay?

The multi contours are definately the delay august builds were moved to sept and they were never available in july. As it currently stands ONLY 550 and AMG will get the seats for 2013 no 350s are to be built any time soon with multicontour seats. I decided to not get them before the delay as they are not active so not real gain for me.

I guess that might be it...wish my SA had mentioned it...not that I wouldn't have waiting...I've drove a '12 550 for a whole day and it could definitely use the Active Curve System.

I have an early July 2012 Production date for my 2013 ML350, As MB has changed the Premium 1 Pkg (deleted Ambient Lighting and Illuminated Door Sills, made a stand alone option?)
Anyone know if I add the MB-Tex Dash and/or the Ambient Lighting and Lighted Door Sills if it will delay my production date. My thought is that if production will remain early July I might as well change order, but if it will delay production, I can live without it.

Not sure who gave you that date but the plant has a scheduled annual 2 week shutdown first of July. My build is the 27. Good luck and enjoy.

I'm starting to see how the delays are developing. In Canada we are heavily packaged in options. If you want the dash its in the leather pkg. Which makes sense. Why get the dash without the leather. Same with the pano roof why go that far without the premium pkg(was include) So you can get a cheap truck with the coolest 2 options, that causes delays. Ambient same thing its in our premium. Too easy to screw production schedule with wimsicle options that are cheap enough without premium pkg. Multicontours are on 550 premium pkg here. Just some musing about how this happens. Enjoy the bargin caused delays LOL

There is a common delay for 20" wheels. Schedule? Only what I hear and experienced since my order for a my12 in may/11 each delay after the bi-xenons made me go with MY13 and I'm glad in the end as I have more cash and love the changes.
