I saw your post in another thread where you asked me to check out your running boards. Yes, mine are black/silver - the standard. I did not want running boards at all but I was stuck with them in order to get a Diamond White with the PO2 and lighting package. Your painted ones look really neat. I'm sure any good paint shop could do it but matching the paint exactly had to be somewhat of a problem. I'll try to post pictures of mine - if I can get it to work. As you can see, the running boards do not really add anything, plus I slip on them getting out - they are useless! The rest of the car is PERFECT!

had them painted in a very good shop, that mostly do custom mustangs, camaro, and high end vehicules.i knew this shop could pull it off based on previous work done on my mustang.the color matches perfectly.

Anyway, thanks for the tip - your running boards now look great! BTW, I know the Habs did not make it this year but don't forget that the Cup final is in full swing! PS-Hint, I was born and raised in Northern New York State!!

I'm sure if the OP took it to a trusted high-end paint shop, they likely would have done an exact match based on the paint code.

I didn't want the boards either but didn't have a choice unless I waited a lot longer. I think the AMG styling package rocker panels we get standard in Canada gives a great look that is infinitely better than the running boards.
My ML is Obsidian Black, so the contrast isn't noticeable, but I would have totally done what you did if I had another color.

Looks great! I remember my '98 ML came with those gray rockers, which they changed to body color a couple years later. I painted mine out and it looked much better. May do the same to this car.

I didn't know it was Canadian. I know about the AMG bumpers there. I just skimmed the thread. Thought it was a us model with painted panels. I whited out my eddie bauer expedition in college and put on a svt Lighting front bumper to pimp it out. I was curious to see i that was the case on this guy's car. I got black because I didnt want the black bumpers on my preferrable white car. Opted for black for a mono chromatic look. I would paint any other color car to have matching bumper panels if I had a different color. Did this on my first Audi A4 too in 2003. Had silver and painter the Lower bumpers and sides before they came factory a few years later

The paint is guaranteed to chip off or scuff. It's a running board, your going to step all over it everyday,
Even with flex paint and all. White will not hide scuffs. I had an old expedition where I painted thr rear bumper cap and it happened eventually. Just look at your factory black running boards and all the scuffs it has on it, now think about painting it white.
