heat/Cool cup holder?
anyone knows if the cup holder can be heated or cooled indicated in the manual. My ML doesn't equipped with the cool/heat selection button.
Dealer told me it looks like none of Canadian MLs has it.

It was not offered on the 2012 models and, so far, not offered on the 2013 models here in the states as well. M-B seems to having some serious supply problems as many options have, despite being in manuals, brochures etc., been delayed. I originally wanted a 2012 with the hot/cold cups and other options that were "delayed" so I was forced to wait on a 2013. I can only hope they come through this year.

1. People were cooking their remote keys in them, or
2. Cupholders interfered with KeylessGO
No info on when/if they will be offered.
Had anyone verified this on the 2013 ML? I got mine just recently and the bottom of the holders has 2 metal plates which looks like it could be used to warm or possibly cool the cup. There is not a button but wondering if it is an option or it is nothing

I have just bought a 2012 ML350 BT and was told this is one of just a handful with hot/cold cupholders!
The button will actually trigger a blue light when cooling and red light when warming.

you can get the heated/cooled cup holder option all over the Europe but in North America you cant.... sort of weird as I thought safety standards were higher in Europe than in North America. I am guessing its because Europeans are generally less stupid than North Americans and they wont leave **** in the cup holder to cook ?!

I bought the car new with almost no miles on it but it was originally ordered by a MB Executive. I will try to post a picture of the cupholder if I don't forget.
btw, my car does have Keyless Go as well and I never had any sort of interference so far.
It actually works pretty good and holds a cup of coffee certainly longer warm but it wouldn't "cook it", i.e. I don't really see why they discontinued it. I definitely look forward to cooler drinks in summer!

I wonder if it can be added as a retrofit.

I don't see why not. As long as you get all the part numbers- the only question is coding. Coding can always be done, but you've got to find the right person to do it.

Even if you can get the parts, wverything is computer connected these days. May not be easy to activate.
