Why does the BlueTec have the "Blue Efficiency" label on it?
And that price indicates $1.00 per litre which is pretty good.

Here in the US,at least,"Blue Efficiency" is a term that MB uses to denote extra fuel mileage and/or lower emmissions.
There are two Sunoco stations near my office (Sunoco's a major brand in the US) which sells diesel for $3.49 a gallon which,I think,is even less than $1.In Canada, for example, they pay something like $1.15/litre which is noticably higher than what we pay in most parts of the country.I was just there a few weeks ago but made it a point to fill up here so that I wouldn't have to pay their steep prices..or incur the currency conversion fees.

Blue Efficiency appeared here on the CDI mudguards late 2009 as an excuse for efficiency when the US got the BlueTec.
Now with the W166 just released, we have the ML350 BlueTec which is diesel, and the ML350 Blue Efficiency which is petrol. I believe it is the same in Europe.

My 2012 ML550 came with Blue Efficiency side logos on the vehicle which made NO sense to me for a biturbo V8 vehicle. I removed them.

Our 2012 GLK has a cap holder on the door as well. Similar fittings on our 1999 & 2004 Volvos. Maybe it's a European thing? Hardly exclusive to M-B.
