Spec'd Out My Truck, Too - And Placed The Order

I've been reading here for over a month and appreciate all the good information posted. It really helped in making a final decision on the configuration details. So, we placed the order today.

ML350W4
Palladium Silver Metallic
Burled Walnut
Wood/Leather Steering Wheel
Black Designo Interior
Lighting Package
Driver Assistance Package
Premium 1 Package
Parktronic
Panorama Sunroof
HK Sound
Heated/Vented Seats
Heat Rear Seats
Ambent Lighting
Keyless-Go
20" Wheels

The dealer I was first speaking to told me that the Auto Buying service from Costco only applied to off-the-lot purchases. Another warehouse club, BJs, had a similar program and referred me to a different dealer. This second dealer said the discount was good for ordered vehicles, so I had them work up a config for me and the discount came to $2600. Back to the first dealer and was again told that such deals are not applicable to special orders. I countered that the other dealer did not place that constraint. We talked further and found that my employer had a discount through their fleet purchase plan applicable to MBs, which gave me $2,000 off. I asked if they would deduct another $600 to match the warehouse club offer and the sales manager agreed. We're happy, they're happy, and I hope to take delivery by Halloween!

The vehicle I'm replacing is a 10-year old GM SUV with 200,000 miles on it. I special ordered it, too, and never tired of it, it's just worn out and no longer reliable.

Does black designo come with wrapped dash and black headliner?

Might want to add passenger memory if you're loading up.

I also ordered one with the ventilated seats. It was scheduled for Oct also. They called me back the following week and said that there was an indefinite delay for the upgraded leather seats, which are required for the active ventilation package. How did you get your order to go through?

I'm not towing anything.

Yes, the Dinamica headliner. I saw a car in the showroom with Dinamica inserts in the front seats. It's like a soft suede finish. I'm curious how the all-black cabin will look as what I've seen so far has a lighter (grey) headliner.

I wrote the order last night. We'll see if I get a call about any delays. The Lexus I last bought took almost six months for delivery. I'm ok with waiting as long as I get *exactly* what I want.

Yep, somewhere there's a cow getting a moisturizing gentle massage this morning.

Agreed. Yes I am getting anxious while waiting, but at least I will get my choice.

$2600 off MSRP or dealer invoice? That is a fully loaded ML (MSRP must be close to 70k.)

$2600 off of MSRP. From the invoice pricing I was provided, that equals Invoice + $1500. There may be holdbacks, rebates or other incentives for the dealer, but that's between them and MB.
Original sticker was $71,735.
