After hitting the brake while parking the Eco Start/Stop kicked in and Shut off the engine. I put the transmission in Parking position to check something. In about 3 minutes, the engine started automatically while the transmission is still in P. Luckily I did not leave the car. That means to prevent any auto re start the key must be turned to position 1 or 0.

I've seen a gas 350/550 and diesel 2013 in Ontario and don't see an ECO button on the dash. So no stop start or do they need modification? YYZ any official words? :o)

It is such an incredible ride. I don't think the ECO feature would make me any happier! The technologies on board this truck are just amazing and so useful. I come out of a 1999 Lexus RX300 and the ML is light years ahead. The diesel is an amazing engine with so much power when you launch it from 0 speed. I like everything about it!

My feeling is that there is next to zero chance of seeing ECO start/stop in the ML arriving now.
First, it is hard to imagine that they would not mention this in the model year preview if it is indeed included.
Second, as with most other features/functions, they would not automagically appear in the build unless it is explicitly listed out in the equipment list.
ECO Start/Stop has its own build code - for example, in the GLK, it is "Auto Stop Start Function, (S-B03)". So if you don't see this item on the list, it won't be there.
They could introduce it in mid-model year, as this function is explained on the M-Class 2013 owner's manual; but they included the 360 surround camera too. But for current build that you can order now, this function is not there.

Yep AMG where it should be first :-)
I don't recall anything stating stop start would be on 63 either. Did any of my CAN friends see any?

Info I read said Yes more robust for application. However a smart manufacturer would only design and engineer one model unless its extremely expensive.
