Just ordered my car, a few questions regarding parktronic and "priority 1" wait list

Hi,
Newbie here and just placed an order for my new car
Lunar Blue
4Matic
Prem 1
Lighting Package
Driver Assist
Keyless go
Tow Package
20 Inch wheels
Parktronic

Here are my questions.
1. What's the general consensus regarding Parktronic and whether or not it is a useful option. Seems like a fair number of people actually find the option annoying because it's beeping all the time?? Will the driver assist package basically make this option unnecessary? ie since the car will try to avoid collisions in the front and I have a rear backup camera for the back???

2. When I ordered the car, the 20 inch wheels were not available so I was placed on the "priority 1" wait list. What does that mean and does anybody know what's the likelihood of getting the 20 inch wheels. If I wait for the wheels to become available, does anybody know how long the wait would be??
TIA

Parktronic is indeed a useful feature.

#1 reason. Children, dogs, or clueless adults walking behind your vehicle while backing out of a space.

#2 reason. Pulling into your garage. If you have a fairly tight opening through the doorway, you can very easily see which side is closer by the number of lights coming on on each side as the bumper passes through the doorway.
When you are approaching the back wall of the garage it is very easy to know when you are just close enough.

PARKTRONIC only beeps when you're about to hit something, or when a pedestrian walks very close to the front of your vehicle when stopped at an intersection.

If my car is stationary and a pedestrian walks in front of me, will the car beep?
won't distronic avoid collisions in the front and automatically brake, including when pulling into garage??

If the car is in drive and the pedestrian walks within approx 16" of the bumper, yes.

Not unless you have DISTRONIC cruise control activated and you follow another vehicle into your garage. When DISTRONIC cruise control isn't activated, the vehicle only stops autonomously to mitigate a collision - it cannot always react in time to prevent a collision.

I suggest a test drive to better understand these features.

It will also beep when the cyclist pulls up in front (or to the side) when you're stopped at the lights.

Overall Parktronic is fantastic. It is standard here - it should be standard everywhere. The only time it misbehaves is in a blizzard when snow covers the sensors - so I turn it off.
