Loving the car so far.. Now I am not sure what part this feature belong to. When I sit in the car and put the seat belt on, as soon as I start the engine, the belts will tighten to the point that they pull you back on to the seat and the Loosen up. What feature is this? Happens to both front seat passengers.

It's called Seat Belt Adjustment function (no fancy name or acronym...)

This can be turned on and off in settings, and it is part of the PRE-SAFE.

It is supposed to measure how far the seatbelt can retract, whilst containing the person currently sitting in that seat.

Then if a situation occurs, and presafe activates, it will pretention the belt to fit the passenger.

Some car belts pretention a set amount, which could strangle a big person, or leave a child loose.

OK thanks for that info.. is this part of the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST that now is standard in the UK? Or just a part of it?

No. It is part of the PRE-SAFE.

I believe the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST is alternate name for Brake Assist PLUS.

This uses distronic radar to preempt a prang, so it gives a warning and prepares the brakes for maximum stopping if you touch the pedal.

As advised by the Sales Manager when I purchased the W164. He knew his stuff inside out unlike the average SA. This is still the same system apparently on the W166 and all MB product.

That's a word I haven't heard in a long time, originally South African perhaps?

Can't say about South African, but common usage down here. Remember we do speak a different language in Oz.
