Also thinking of ordering rear heated seats and rear heat/ac zone. do they work well? If you had to choose one, would it be the second zone? Thanks
I have a fairly large frame (6'6") so I wanted the ability to extend the front of the seat, as well as change the bolsters on the sides and back to match my taller body geometry. They're great, you can adjust all the important bits to get the seats "just right". They also come with massaging which I never use (self respecting guy heh) but it makes all my passengers very impressed for some reason.

Heated rear seats are great - they're not in the same league as the S-Class, but for going skiing they work great, or so I'm told, since I'll probably never find myself back there. I would probably choose the third zone climate control though, since when it gets very cold the passengers in the back complain of lack of heat, probably because I don't like it too hot up front causing the heat not to make it back in a normal configuration. This makes the third zone is a really nice feature to have if you're transporting adults - dogs and kids wouldn't notice it though...

Here is what the inside of mine looks like, if I can remember I'll take a shot of it in the daylight (better quality) - but it's really close to the stock image I posted earlier, except the wrapped dash makes it just that much better:

Ventilated seats make zero difference on the seat firmness.

Thanks! I've decided to go ahead with the car...my husband is having them install the wood wheel so that he can drive it home on Friday.

I actually think I would have gone with the Satin finish wood had I ordered the car, but am happy enough with the burl wood. I didn't want to order and wait 5 months for the car, and this one has all of my (loaded) options...at a discount!

I've noticed in many of the pics here that the sliding cup holder cover has a wood finish. Mine is black. Looking through other brouchure pics, I see that it matches the interior color. I have the designo interior and thought it would have a wood finish. Now I'm not sure. Is this something I should go back to the dealer about?

The pics below were taken in the garage. I'll have better ones when the weather here improves and I can get outside during the day for a photo shoot.

This is just speculation on my part but maybe it is a 350 vs 550/63 thing? I don't know about the first set of pics in this thread, but the 2nd set is from a 550. My 63 has a wood finish on the sliding cover, but I have seen non-wood ones at my local dealer.

update:

a quick look at the mbusa website and my ML brochure shows that all the pics of 350s have the sliding door match the plastic trim in the vehicle (black, tan or grey). I didn't see a single pic of a 350 with a wood trim sliding cover.

ML doesn't get the wood roller door, only GL for now.

It's a $500 part.

Yes. Mine does. In post # 26 in this thread, Thimee posted a pic of his vehicle w/ the wood roller and from his sig, he has a ML550. I think the comment about the wood roller not being avail for the ML is incorrect.

For those of you who purchased the Designo interior in the US: can you check your sticker/paperwork to see if there was a charge for $1,620 reflecting leather upgrade plus the Designo upcharge of $4,600? I have read on the forum that there is suppose to be only one charge for the $4,600, but sometimes the dealer makes a mistake and charges for the $1,620 as well.

The designo price includes the leather upgrade, it's not a separate cost. Here's my sticker.

My bad, yes, correct. The 350s launched first (back in MY12) and the wood wasn't ready in time. Now it's seemingly just a cost cutting/variant reduction exercise.

Hmm, I think heated/ventilated seat is part of the designo leather package. On your sheet it is a separate item?

The heated/vented front seats were never shown as included with the Designo package. Did you see that somewhere? Too late for me but I'd still be interesting in knowing and it may help someone else if that's the case.

The Designo package, AFAIK, includes the upholstery (front and rear), the matching door panels, the leather-wrapped dash, and the Dinamica headliner.

In my understanding, the leather package include heated/ventilated front seats. Since Designo is a step up from standard leather, I make that assumption...

I ordered a ML550 last month with Black exterior/Auburn Brown leather interior and heated/ventilated seats are a separate line item:

254 Auburn Brown/Black Leather(SPC) $1,620
401 Heated/Ventilated Front Seats (SPC) $570

I think the heated seats are included with the leather but the ventilation is the option.

Edition 1 is the same thing as Designo edition correct?

I also read here that the Designo version of muli-contour seats are called Active Vent. Does anyone have this Designo seat upgrade? Please let me know what you think. Are they worth it for someone who is 5'8" tall 165 lbs?

A gaggle of MB's
Just so you know, in GL350BT - in the US system any/all Designo - very few out there, in transit, and in production sold customer sold...

Designo black is awesome, designo Porcelain and Designo Auburn not my thing... leather Auburn very cool...
