Designo Interior Questions
Do you find the multi contour seats more comfortable than the stock seats? Do they have a very confining feeling? Don't like to feel too restricted as if the suv is a sports car. When you got the cooling seat option, did it firm the seat up?
Also thinking of ordering rear heated seats and rear heat/ac zone. do they work well? If you had to choose one, would it be the second zone? Thanks
Heated rear seats are great - they're not in the same league as the S-Class, but for going skiing they work great, or so I'm told, since I'll probably never find myself back there. I would probably choose the third zone climate control though, since when it gets very cold the passengers in the back complain of lack of heat, probably because I don't like it too hot up front causing the heat not to make it back in a normal configuration. This makes the third zone is a really nice feature to have if you're transporting adults - dogs and kids wouldn't notice it though...

Here is what the inside of mine looks like, if I can remember I'll take a shot of it in the daylight (better quality) - but it's really close to the stock image I posted earlier, except the wrapped dash makes it just that much better:

I actually think I would have gone with the Satin finish wood had I ordered the car, but am happy enough with the burl wood. I didn't want to order and wait 5 months for the car, and this one has all of my (loaded) options...at a discount!
The pics below were taken in the garage. I'll have better ones when the weather here improves and I can get outside during the day for a photo shoot.

This is just speculation on my part but maybe it is a 350 vs 550/63 thing? I don't know about the first set of pics in this thread, but the 2nd set is from a 550. My 63 has a wood finish on the sliding cover, but I have seen non-wood ones at my local dealer.
update:
a quick look at the mbusa website and my ML brochure shows that all the pics of 350s have the sliding door match the plastic trim in the vehicle (black, tan or grey). I didn't see a single pic of a 350 with a wood trim sliding cover.

254 Auburn Brown/Black Leather(SPC) $1,620
401 Heated/Ventilated Front Seats (SPC) $570
I also read here that the Designo version of muli-contour seats are called Active Vent. Does anyone have this Designo seat upgrade? Please let me know what you think. Are they worth it for someone who is 5'8" tall 165 lbs?
