As I initially posted - my dealer only has Avis rentals and they're certainly not the same ride as a Mercedes. Last time I had a Ford. If your car is in for warranty work there's no charge for the rental unless you opt for additional insurance coverage.

I envy those of you who have dealers loaning out MB cars. I've owned other luxury brands and those dealerships loaned out their own brand. This is my first experience with a luxury dealership who only has non MB rentals.

Yes, you are correct... I was thinking of a time when they came and took my car back to the dealer (and didn't leave me a loaner) for some service that was going to occur while I was out of town...

My dealer will drop a MB loaner at my home or work and take my vehicle for service. This is the case for this dealers BMW, Jag, Porsche and Lexus dealerships as well. If I go there for service, I am afforded complimentary soda, coffee, juice, water and fresh baked cookies! The "waiting room" is like sitting in my living room (including leather chairs and a big screen above the fireplace).

Wow. I'm coming to your dealer.

Where are you located?

My dealer will also pick up the car requiring service and leave us a MB loaner vehicle. They will alternatively offer us a "limo" ride back and forth to the dealer if we think that would be more convenient (i.e. going straight to the airport while the car is getting serviced). On one occasion, they went out of their way to leave me a loaner vehicle at the airport with the valet since my plans changed to a late night return home during non business hours. In the event that we have to wait at the dealership, the amenities are pretty nice and they offer a comfortable lounge.

Ditto asJb66. I am haveing the mb trailer brake controller installed next month and my service rep. not only offered a loaner but would pick the car up and drop off at my place of work, do a loaner or whatever we want. They go out of their way to provide me with whatever I need.

Rental agency at the dealership/shop

They handle it all, I sign and drive and pay nothing
or
They will take me to work and return the car to me at work
or
They will come pick it up, and bring it back when finished
