Making a weird noise on startup. Please help!

Do you have the service bulletin numbers that covers this repair?
Also do you have a list of the part numbers on your repair receipt?

Sorry been meaning to post a copy of the paperwork from the dealer. Been busy. I will get a copy of the service paperwork and post them tomorrow.

I am an Aircraft Technician at American Airlines in Dallas and usually do all of my own work on my vehicles, except when they are under warranty of course.
I was looking through the MB EPC last night and didn't see any check vales that had been mentioned earlier in the post. Now that you stated that they actually "ADD" the check valves makes more sense now

I just got my '13 c300 6 months ago and it made the same
Noise but I've been putting it off! I thought it was cause of my AC. Guess I better get it checked. It's brand spanking new too. Ill let you guys know what happens

Service Manager just sent me an email, they are going to do the repair for the engine noise per the bulletin that mb techman referred to

This is so interesting. My dealer's service department had mine for 2 weeks & 2 days only to then tell me that the rattling noise is totally normal. I knew this wasn't right, and I let them know I wasn't happy but there wasn't alot I could do.
I previously forwarded SuPER_S's Youtube videos from earlier in this thread to my service advisor but they tried to tell me that my car is totally different to a left-hand drive ML350. My car has the M278 engine and thanks to Vette-Pilot's 'Rattling noise after engine start' document I have now discovered mine IS affected by this fault too so I've forwarded that information to my service advisor now. Thanks so much for that Vette-Pilot!
I haven't heard back from my dealer as yet, but I bet they feel like idiots now when I was able to source more official MB information than they were through their systems and service bulletins. What a joke huhh?
So yeah, this is brilliant and I can't wait for their response to this now.
I'll keep y'all posted!

Actually the Bulletin came from 'mb techman' who is a Mercedes Technician. I am glad we have him on this forum to help us out when we need it

Anyway I had a call back from my dealer this morning and they're just as confused as me as to why I was able to source this information but not them. Egg on your face much MB Australia? My car's booked in for the 20th of next month, unfortunately they can't do it sooner as I need a loan car (again, very disappointed I have to wait so long!) and it's going to be there for another few days at least.
I just hope they fix the damn thing once & for all this time. I'm getting sick of going backwards & forwards to the dealer to get little issues sorted. I have lost count how many times I've been there in the last 9 months since I took delivery.
Aside from all this I still love my car heaps, I'm nudging 14,000kms already and she's running in very nicely.
