How long will it take for a new car order

I placed my order in mid-February and picked it up the first week of April. Production times vary but I had a ton of options on my ML550 and nothing was delayed.

Like cmginc said "nothing was delayed". I ordered mine (2013) in March of 2012 and did not get it until September because it was continually delayed for this or that option. The factory uses the 'just in time' inventory system (read about it on http://www.mbusi.com, the ML Factory web site). I finally said build it as I was told another option I wanted would further delay the car for a few months and that one of the options I ordered, although now in stock, might not be in stock when the other option arrived. Whew!! I finally said the heck with it, build it! Still it was worth the wait as it was.

My dealer is saying it could take 45 to 60 days after production. I ordered mine August 15th, and he is saying maybe by the end of November. Not sure if it takes longer for a Bluetec or something to do with the alocation. I figure it will just come when it comes.

Let me add some perspective - a order with a dealer is just that - a order with a dealer.
A real order - is a production order with the factory confirmed back with factory PO# to that dealer.
If you do not have a factory PO# from your dealer - then you don't have a order - you have a dealer request.
ALL factory orders have a estimated production date - which is then later upgraded by the factory to a scheduled factory production date - and factory production dates are by and large accurate - after production is completed it can take 4-6 days for the vehicle to be released to carrier - then carrier delivery time to your dealer is best estimated by the experience of your dealer on other previous orders

I actually have a PO but dealer says he will not know when it's coming until the car is built. Not sure if he just doesn't want to do the research. Either way, I am guessing I will have a vehicle in the next couple of months.

I was giving a po# as well. My dealer said that no item in my order was delayed. He said that if the system accepted the order nothing is delayed (not sure that is true given some of the comments above). On their system my order was already yellow but still changeable and he said that it will close very soon and turn red. Let's see if it works out and I get my car by late October / early November.

What is scheduled to produce mean if I already have a po number? I configured with the dealer a month ago but that is my status so far? Does it take this long or did my dealer drop the ball?

Searching for 14 GL350
I'm also trying to order a GL350 - The delivery estimates vary widely based on the dealer and their "available"slots. I had one dealer tell me not to expect it until late spring, another the first week of January and a third by Christmas (although i suspect the "by Christmas" dealer might be fibbing.)

I also think it depends on dealer allocation slots. I placed an order for mine on Sept. 14th and was given a PO#. The order sheet also said that the build will be done in November 2D and that I will have the car somewhere before the middle of December.

With respect to that delivery date I hope that MB will be running its Winter Event and hopefully they'll have nice incentives which I'll be able to take advantage off per my agreement with the dealer.

Hi,
I order mine on July 10 and it took...
2 months, 9 days
or
1720 hours
or
103,204 minutes
or
6,192,240 seconds
Anyway you look at it, the wait is forever when you want it now.
