Valentine 1 Hardwiring in the ML

I have a Valentine 1 that my prior vehicle could be hardwired directly into the rearview mirror using a short Invisicord. I realize that we have to hardwire into the overhead console on the ML. But what aftermarket product/cord are people using for this?

Yup...12" or longer the better..depends where you want to place the v1 ...I keep my v1 in the vette and use the escort 9500ix tight up and against mirror body using the invisicord

Had it wired as above, the only "issue," if even is one, is that it's always drawing power and won't turn off, even if the car if completely off. Will leaving the V1 "on" be able to drain the battery if left on overnight?

That's why I selected that power source as I don't want it starting every time I start the car. Mine has been fine staying on all the time as it takes very little power..I even have my camera connected there...you won't have any issues...if you prefer I'm sure there is some switched power up there,,you just gotta find it...cheers

Apologies for this naïve question - how did you manage to pass the Invisicord cable through the interior panel? Is there enough gap for connectors to sneak through?

Yup..since you're behind the roof liner already I used a hacksaw blade (nice and flat) and modestly pryed the headliner away at the windshield to feed the RJ connector thru...I have the two devices feeding off the same source wires and they stay on constantly as I don't want all the booting noises at each start..the ML battery at 850 CA has plenty to sustain these drains which are very minimal...milli volts

If you use an Escort 9500ix it has an auto power down option after 4 hours of inactivity
