another problem. will this never end??
had some strange noises intermittently going over bumps from the front driver side. It sounded like a suspension problem to me, drop link sway or strut noise. Knowing how MB won't fix anything unless it's really obvious, I waited a few months to get worse. I took a go pro video and had the SA listen to it. At first she said "she didn't hear it". I told her that the noise came when going over uneven pavement or when there was uneven load on the front suspension, i.e. going down hills, braking etc.
First they said the wheel bearing needed to be replaced. Ok.... Didn't sound like that to me but I'm not a mechanic. They replaced the wheel bearing and the noise persisted. Then they tell me that the strut needed to be replaced. This car has so many mechanical problems I can't stand it anymore!

ML350
I read about the "7. the infamous noise on start up." and that makes me wonder that the rattle noise I hear in the cabin when the engine is idling, I was told it was part of Direct injection but the more I hear from your video, the more I think it is the same sound, except I hear it inside the car, not outside (because the engine is loud when it starts up?)
I had taken my car to the dealer too, they looked it all up and said it was the Direct injection and is "normal". Even had them try another ML350 (Gas) that they had in stock and it barely had that noise, it was there but very subtle compared to the noise I hear in my cabin while idling...

well, my dealership said that the noise didn't exist. There's a thread on this somewhere there's a service bulletin about this. When I pointed it out to the SA, then presto, now there's a problem and they address it. Mind boggling that the customer actually is aware about this problem more than the technicians.
Regarding corporate, well MB was contacted via the lemon lawyer. As expected, they didn't seem to care. The whole process has been drawn out as long as possible which is annoying to me.
I was going to get rid of my C4S and get a C63 coupe but I've been so turned off by this experience that I went elsewhere and picked up a Nissan GTR. Shockingly, the service is WAY better at Nissan for the GTR (different level of service with GTR than other Nissans). Granted, the waiting room s crummy, no free coffee or pastries, TV is bad, chairs dumpy, etc. But when I get there, the service manager (Nissan has GTR owners deal with the managers only) is waiting for me, I'm in and out in 5 min. I am given constant updates on what is going on with the car and when I pick it up, the technician talks to me and tells me everything that was done.

Unbelievable!
I got a call from my wife. She was pulled over by a policeman because the loaner car that was provided to her by MB had
1. an expired registration
2. multiple unpaid parking tickets

The real problem with MB of Southbay is that they are an AutoNation dealership. I have had similar problems with other AutoNation dealerships. They tell you one thing and then do the exact opposite. They will say anything to get you to sign on the dotted line. I do not believe that management there has any pride or ethics. I would advise everyone to steer clear of any dealership owned by AutoNation. I agree that the folks at Foothill Ranch MB are very nice. Got my wife's E350 there.
Will be returning next week as the transmission acts like it's in "sport" mode..not upshifting and severe engine braking when stopping. I can assure you my brother will not be bringing his SLS to these folks.

I seriously think I must be the stupidest guy alive. I have brought my ML back to the dealership to "fix" the things they Fu**ed up.
Not only does the transmission feel like it's in "sport" mode but replacing the turbo seal has caused a ticking sound that I hadn't heard before. Took the shop foreman out for a spin but he seemed as clueless as the rest of the staff.
I wonder if MBNA will ever realize AutoNation is a horrible steward for the brand.

Personally I think these American made MBs are poor quality. I've been informed that MB would finally like to settle, after dragging this out for nearly a year.
Absolutely the worst car I've owned in the last 10 years. Once this matter is officially settled, I'll post what happened if I'm allowed.

Because MBUSA has you sign confidentially statements when they buy back cars or work out a settlement. Some people choose to violate them.
