RPM at 75 mph
I'm interested in the rpm of a ML350 BLUE TEC ata 75 mph. Thank you.
I have one being delivered in Feb of '14 and plan to travel on Interstates a lot and want to compare the rpms at 75mph to the torque curve of the engine.

Thank you. I'm trying to figure out how much grunt is left after 75mph for passing. I test drove one up to 100 with the salesman in it and it seemed to pull pretty good up to that speed.

Looks like it was around 2075RPM Wasn't quite half way between 2 and the first dash (2200RPM). It was a short run at 75 so I'm not sure if I was still accelerating or not which would make a difference. I'll check again on the way home if I can. The speed limit is only 65 and there's some construction on my route, so cruising at 75 isn't always possible.

I found this page out of Car and Driver and on one page it shows the mph per 1000 rpm in each gear. In 7th gear it seems to tell me I'd be doing 35.7 mph for each 1000 revs.
