What Air filters are you guys running? I have been looking at K&N.

Absolute ridiculousness... better servied by chaning the OE air filter more frequently if you want to feel proud about your MB..

I've got a pair of weistec dry flow filters. They were reasonably priced. Last filter I'll ever buy. I've kept the factory ones for when I clean the weistecs. Seems like I've killed 2 birds with one stone. High flow and dry washable.

I just ordered the BMC filters off of eBay for $200.

If you look at the Renntech sales pitch... You notice how far the OEM edge of the filter drops down into the entrance pipe of the air box. The BMC filters are about half as thick causing less obstruction. Taking that into consideration and the fact that air moves through a BMC, Green, or K&N filter much easier than OEM.... Can't hurt.

Now in reality, I probably won't notice any difference in those 2 more horses of power after I install the filters... But I sure will feel better knowing that they are there when I need them to dust off some Mustang GT!

In my motorcycles.... K&N makes a huge difference... For a large blown V8... They just help.

And the design is used in aviation.

I used to use oiled filters

Drove a turbo diesel for 25 years until just recently. Always had a washable
Oiled replacement until a few years ago when there was a bulletin advising of
Turbo issues from the oil from the filter found covering the map sensors and
In the turbo. Ever since then I've always run dry AFE Filters or another company's. But always dry.

I believe you mean the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors; and you are correct that oil from an oiled filter can foul them.

Any one ever try aem replacement filters? I have their system on my dode and they are dry so it will work great with turbos.
