What will all of you recommend?
I am planning on getting a ML to replace the GLK 350. I want to get an advice from people here on which one to get. I don't mind staying to petrol if going to diesel will be a headache which I see from here. Cost of gas is not a concern to me but please don't say get a ML 63 as I won't be racing it. Most of the time it would be the wife's car but I want to make sure that when I use it I won't swear at myself for getting a slower car than the GLK when I press the gas pedal with a full load. So basically the choice will be the 350 petrol,350 diesel and 550. Also is the air matic a dependable or headache on the long run as it would come standard with the sports option?

I'm having a hard time deciding on Gas or Diesel also. They both have the same zero - 60 time, But I've driven the Diesel and the turbo lag is minimal and not objectionable, it is quiet, smooth, and clean.... but about 4 Thousand more to buy & maintain.
Is MPG the only reason to choose it? ...I'm coming from an outstanding, loaded, mint 2007 E550 and love the power & acceleration.

The diesel comes with 4matic so the price difference is really around $1500. If you do not plan on towing or driving in snow/off road conditions, the rwd gas model makes more sense for you.

For power, go 550. Airmatic is not standard at all, only on the ml63. It is a separate option that needs to be ordered. It is nice to have a comfort and lowering sport mode with it.
