New to MB, kickin' it all off with a new '14 ML350!
Hello everyone!
New to the boards too. I look forward to wasting an endless amount of time here and learning everything there is and more about my new ML. I'm coming from a long line of sports sedans... currently a G37S Sedan. I needed (and kinda wanted) something bigger for work and thanks to my friend who has a 2013 ML63... I fell in love.
Anywho, here is my build:
149 Polar White
101 Black MB-Tex
P01 P1 Package: Driver's Side & Interior Au $3,920
R33 20" Twin 5-Spoke Wheel $750
SPC Special Order $250
U09 MB-Tex Wrapped Dashboard (SPC) $330
Y90 Black Headliner (SPC) $100
218 Rearview Camera
289 Wood/Leather Steering Wheel $590
319 319 Lighting Package: Bi-Xenon Headlamps $1,390
729 Anthracite Poplar Wood Trim $160
810 harman/kardon® LOGIC7® Surround Sound Sy $850
846 Brushed Aluminum Running Boards $670
876 Multi-color ambient lighting w/ Illumina $310
889 KEYLESS-GO® $650
SUBTOTAL $57,760
DESTINATION & DELIVERY $925
TOTAL $58,685
I've changed this only once and am pretty happy across the board. I absolutely love the look of the Anthracite Poplar Wood. I suppose my ONLY question would be about the 20" wheel option. Any insight from those with and without the 20"s?
She was allocated to me in the system officially on 3/28/2014 with a set build date of 2nd to 3rd week of May. I know there are some here who recently took delivery... is the factory running behind or ahead? If you were to make an educated guess based on the current run time... what would you say my delivery time frame would be?
Anyway guys, those are my only questions for right now. Thanks in advance!

Congrats on your order. Ours took about 9 weeks from when we placed the order to when it was delivered (and that was a bit early from the dealer's projections).
I think the 20's look great on the ML - and the ones you have are great looking wheels. The 20's on this don't drive any differently than the 19's on my previous X5. If you come from sports sedans, I'm guessing the lower profile tires on those cars rode harsher than the 20" wheels on the ML (I know that's the case with our S4).

Go and test drive first as the diesel is an entirely different animal. Lots of torque at lower RPM. The BT gets most of it work done in the 2000 to 3000 rpm range.

It's hard to find any BT's at least here in the Chicago area. My dealer has one coming in soon and if nobody buys it before it gets delivered, I can test drive it.

I wonder why scarce in Chicago as I see plenty of them in The Jacksonville and Atlanta areas. In only my first week of ownership, I had a 350BT pull up to the other side of the diesel fuel pump at my local station, that did surprise me.

It won't be as quick as the A6, but the acceleration/low-end torque will feel very similar to the A6...it'll still push you back in the seat pretty well

The reason is that Illinois requires the use of Biodiesel and the formula that MB requires can be difficult to find.

I would hope that one day they look back at their mistakes in their large cities, but I highly doubt it. Now we have to pay to keep them afloat!
