ML350 Orders

I was wondering how long an order takes to arrive to the dealership? I have read multiple threads that can range from 45 days to 9 weeks. My dealer speculated for a mid June arrival (order placed end of April). Supposedly the Alabama plant is closed in May and won't start production until beginning of June (not sure if this is true, just what the dealer told me). I was hoping mid-June was a true statement, since if it does not arrive I likely will not be able to purchase one until end of the year (multiple reasons). Also if it does arrive later, is the deposit that I put down refundable? Thanks for all the responses.

Deposits are almost never refundable.

Owlet, thanks ya you're right. I just looked at the Ohio laws and unless they changed anything without consent, the car was not what I ordered or the date of delivery is not what they had said then a refund can be given.

If you have a PO number you can find out the estimate on the production date. There are a few members here that work at the Vance plant, they can tell you.

Read this thread below. There are a couple of people there that know what they're talking about. Try to PM them, they'll probably will be able to help, as they did before.

It really depends on what state you live in. Here in CA, all deposits are required to be 100% refundable by law. The paperwork I've signed every time I have put money down always states that in bold print.

My order was placed April 2 and according to my salesperson it is "being built 2nd decade(10 days) of May be here Early to Mid June". I'm guessing the build schedule for the BT's is less frequent than the gas-ML's so maybe that's contributing to a longer lead time?

Here has been my experience as well as what I've read from others:

I ordered my car on 3/28/2014. It locked 3 days later in the dealer system and was the last ML350 2WD my dealer had for 2014. I was told my production day once it went RED (locked) was 5/17/2014.

On 5/13/2014 I received text from my dealer letting me know the car just finished production 20 minutes prior to the phone call and was currently making its way to the lot for carrier loading. Yesterday, 5/19/2014, I received a phone call letting me know that the truck was leaving the factory and will arrive TOMORROW, 5/21/2014, to my dealer.

Here is my build:

149 Polar White
101 Black MB-Tex
P01 P1 Package: Driver's Side & Interior Au $3,920
R33 20" Twin 5-Spoke Wheel $750
SPC Special Order $250
U09 MB-Tex Wrapped Dashboard (SPC) $330
Y90 Black Headliner (SPC) $100
218 Rearview Camera
289 Wood/Leather Steering Wheel $590
319 319 Lighting Package: Bi-Xenon Headlamps $1,390
729 Anthracite Poplar Wood Trim $160
810 harman/kardon® LOGIC7® Surround Sound Sy $850
846 Brushed Aluminum Running Boards $670
876 Multi-color ambient lighting w/ Illumina $310
889 KEYLESS-GO® $650

SUBTOTAL $57,760
DESTINATION & DELIVERY $925
TOTAL $58,685

Another user on here had nearly the exact same build as me but in a ML550 variant and received his custom order in 5 weeks.

I do know the factory does not shut down in May... possibly June since I know my dealers allocations for 2015 models of all ML's have build dates set for early July. This probably indicates a June shut down for updates.

So there's another confirmation they'll keep working in May. You'll get your car, Thatiteballa!

Thanks PureNick for the information. Not sure why the dealer told me the factory was shut down in May, but based off your timing I should have it around June 17th. I have a similar build as yours except with driving and parking assist, and 4matic. I really hope it works out similar to your timing, would be great.

I was nervous after ordering my ML with the Anthracite Poplar Wood Trim... apparently less than 5% of all MLs produced have this trim and the majority of that 5% production are in AMG form. This was the only red flag the dealer warned me about after ordering which may cause a supply delay.

Luckily, that wasn't the case and it appears the user I mentioned before with the ML550 didn't have an issue either.

With that said, you should be getting yours very soon. Transit I'm finding out is a ***** of a wait... you know it's built you just have no clue how long it'll take for a truck to pick it up and bring it to your dealership.

I just called MB Customer Service and found out production date is June 19th. Hopefully it is earlier than that since it will likely not make it here on time for me to pick up.

A gaggle of MB's
A Mercedes dealer can give you a PO# - confirm exact build configuration - and give you scheduled production date - all that information is quite easy/clear from the NetStar system.

At the moment production is on schedule +/- 1-2 days.. smooth actaully.

Mine was produced 4 days early. I just picked mine up today literally a few ours after it was unloaded off the truck. Loving it so far!
