Blinding Sun Glare
I drove a 200 mile circle route today on a bright and sunny day. I experienced blinding sun glare off of the bright metal strip that goes across and under the NAVI screen above the controls; and it happened in pretty much every direction I was going.
Anyone else experienced this? To remedy the problem I laid down a strip of flat black gaffer's tape when I got home. I'm really surprised that MB let something like this happen. It is unsafe in my opinion.

The bright metal around the air vents also causes distraction. Reflects into the outside mirrors or the area of the window glass where you view the outside mirrors. In other words, yes.

Agree completely-I have a 2014 GL550 which has same dash. The bright strip under Nav prevents easy visual of the remaining miles and time of arrival. Very distracting and I agree that MB should have caught it. No easy fix that is visually acceptable.

I noticed this as well however I ended up "tinting" my entire front windshield with 85% Solargard Ultimate... no more glare and a TON of heat reduction. I have an all black interior, headliner, and leather wrapped dash and the heat + glare was ridiculous.
For those who are thinking "but tinting your window is illegal!"... yes, you really really have to be looking at the windshield to notice the 85%. It's practically clear. Best $85 I've ever spent.

On an occasion or two I have had some glare from these areas but never enough to bother me. I hate putting after market tint on ANY glass as the distortion is unacceptable. That includes even the best of tint material and I have tried many!
The black tape would be the best method if it is really bugging someone the carbon fiber tape would be perfect!

These pieces are easily removed..they just snap off and a little squirt of flat black plastidip (easily removed if needed) would be another option
