2015 W166 rattles
I traded in my 2011 164 with 55,000 miles because all of the rattles were driving me crazy.
3 months and 3,500 miles in to my 2015 and now we are starting again.
This morning the front passenger seat started.
Wind noise from the sunroof is much louder than in the 164.
This is my 5th M/B and have driven over 200,000 miles in them. At least the 164 waited for about 3 years before driving me crazy. Thankfully, this one is a lease. I think I'm over Mercedes, at least in 33 months....

I have the same from the centre console and other bits.. can't be asked to get the dealer to sort it out as asked them twice and they are useless at finding the issue..

Really - Mercedes
So now we have 4,000 miles and started getting the low windshield washer fluid level alert. Apparently you can only use the MB blue product for windshield washer fluid. Really.
Also, now the temps are getting into the 60s noticed that the climate control fan speed is always high. It never lowers down to a quiet level.
This is a premium luxury vehicle?
I am so disappointed.

I have used the Pep Boy washer fluid for 5 months and no problem. As far as the fan speed goes, set the temperature control to automatic and the fan should change speed as you reach your set temperature.

I filled the windshield washer fluid with the Rain-X stuff I have been using for years. Never had a problem in my other MB products or in my BMW. The bottle is full and when I start up the car I get the low fluid warning.
If I have the auto temp set at 70 and its 50 outside everything is nice, but when I have it at 68 and its 66 outside the fan does not go below the 3rd bar level of noise even after an hour of continuous driving. At auto it usually gets to its temperature pretty quickly then lowers the fan speed down nice and quiet. Maybe a sensor is faulty. If I manually lower the fan speed to 2 it sounds and feels fine - the way it should when it is in auto.
Mechanically this car is great but these kinds of things just kill the whole experience.

After I STF I found several other members having the same problem.
The non-MB fluid breaks the sensor. As the car is only a few months old, I am scheduling a service visit to have these issues looked at. Will post an update.

I have 37K miles on my ML550, although I've had more than my share of issues, I have zero wind noise/rattles. That's living with horrible NY roads, towing an 8000lb boat and real off roaring. Whenever I hear a rattle or noise I look around and it's inevitably an empty bottle or a toy rattling around somewhere from my kids.

2 weeks to get a service appointment with a loaner.
I did some research on the rain-x issue - other sites say that the chemicals in the rain-x coat the sensors in the fill bottle preventing them from reading the fluid level. Been using this in all previous Mercedes, BMW, Acura and never had a problem like this before.
Now this morning there is a problem with the keyless go. Car will start and immediately stalls out. Tried this 4 times. Removed the button and started the car with key and works fine.
I wonder what will happen next....

Washer fluid sensor error corrected - maybe
A week ago, I flushed the washer fluid bottle with water and left it until yesterday, then I added the german washer fluid - einszett (mixed with water). Ran the washers a few times today and this evening the sensor appears to be functioning again. Will update if it stops working again.
Also keyless go started working again today too.
Climate control issue was not a problem because it is below 50 degrees here in NY.
Service appointment scheduled for next week.

Love my E-Class Loaner
Took my car in to resolve the problems identified.
Was informed that Rain-X or other orange washer fluids are not to be used in these cars as they interrupt the sensor. Since it is working fine now using the German concentrate fluid, no further action to be taken.
Will update on other items when I get the car back.
Dealer gave me a 2015 E 350 4matic w/AMG sport wheels, approx 4k miles.
This car is a Mercedes. Climate control works silently - no buzzy fan noises.
Car is smooth and solid. If I didn't need the trailer hitch and storage capacity of the ML, I would switch in a heartbeat. Maybe time to consider the E-Wagon.
The cars built overseas feel so much better than the ones they build in the US.

Back from Service
So waited 2 weeks for appointment with loaner, then had car in for a week.
Results:
1. Love the E-class loaner.
2. Sunroof adjusted. Hopefully wind noise is gone.
3. Software updated to address keyless go issue.
4. Climate Control blower motors replaced to address system problem in auto mode. - Climate control system fan is much louder in ML than in E when set to same settings in similar conditions. Noisy center vents? Still working way too hard compared to E.
5. Confirmed that we should not be using anything other than German stuff in windshield washer fluid. Definitely no Rain-X stuff or other orange stuff. Those products will prevent the sensor for working property.

This is my first Benz that I haven't enjoyed and I've had quite a few. My 2011 BTC was flawless and I wish I'd never traded it in. Fortuntstlry the current one is a lease.
