CQUARTZ FINEST

I will be getting a coating tomorrow applied on the palladium gray ML and was leaning into cquartz finest with 3 coats instead of 2. Does anyone of you guys tried this on their cars or should I just go with opticoat pro+. After the ML I will be doing the same thing on my tenorite gray c300.

I'm interested in hearing what you, and others, experience with this. Any price quotes from a detail shop to complete this? Thanks in advance...

I was quoted $749 for the cquartz finest or opticoat pro+ and if I want another layer on top of the 2 layers they will place it will cost another $100. I did a lot of research here in Vancouver and there is only 1 man that all of the other car forums recommend and I am going to him as well. I will post pictures of before and after.

The installer sent me these pictures at 6AM in the morning. I just shed a tear when I saw it (tears of joy!)

WOW!!! Looks Fabulous!!! I have the exact same exterior(color/running brds) so I can really appreciate the job! I searched for CQUARTZ detailers in Ottawa, came up with 1 from their site. The local price is unreal.... $1600. ???? I could drive to Vancouver and back for that dollar. You must have really got a deal, or something is amiss. The local site states SUVs= 4 days??? $1600.??? I'm going to call them and get the low-down.

EDIT: just spoke with the owner Vlad, his price is actually $1200..., still not in your ballpark. You did very well!

That is too much I think! 3 guys worked on my car to get it done and everything was detailed. My detailer even paid for 1 day of my rental as part of his service. One thing to keep in mind is to make sure you get the FINEST.

In total my bill end up to $1002.75 for 3 coats of cquartz finest and 1 day of car rental.

If anyone in Vancouver or in the lower mainland who wants his car done with cquartz finest this is the man, Ken of Autowerks (and only authorized in western Canada) to do it.

I will have to find time to get my C300 done. You need the car not to get wet for at least 12 hours after the application so weather timing is necessary.

It looks fabulous, my trouble is with the harsh weather I have in Toronto, it wouldn't last till next year, is it worth a grand? But hey, it brought tears of joy out of a grown man, what more can I say

I was told that to make sure to apply "Reload" on top of it once every 2 months min. to maintain the slickness and finish. They do guarantee the finish for 2 years but I was told they have seen the coating lasting more than +3 years with proper maintenance. In the end of the day you will still need to properly maintain it. 3 things that really made me decide to get the coating done are:

1. Easier to clean
2. No more waxing
3. Deep wet gloss finish

If you want 3 of those then the cquartz finest is for you. If you want more durability but less gloss and less wet look go with opticoat pro+ then use opti seal on top of it to prolong the life of the coating.

On my mind that 1k cost is worth it as I do not have to spend 4 hours every two weeks cleaning and detailing the damn SUV for the next 2+ years.

Just yesterday more than 3 people driving an ML literally pulled down their windows while I was stopped on a red light just to ask what I did to my paint to make it glow. Just imagine my smile during those times.

How's the experience so far, is the shine still looking good? Thx

Congrats that looks stunning - I applied the Blackfire Coating on my E550 and I love it - although I am approaching the two year mark so I need to figure out what to do.

No doubt about it - this is a stunning job. It makes the car look good and is durable. The problem is that where Shotgun Banjo does not like to wash and wax, I consider it a joy to rub on my vehicles and do it often. I am more in "tune" with them this way. Almost like petting a kitten. Nothing better than getting out on a nice morning, washing the car with a loads of suds and then applying whatever the flavor of the day is in wax or sealants. I then pop a beer, sit down under a tree and watch my Diamond White "diamonds" glisten and sparkle in the sun. I never feel prouder than when admiring my ride after a good detail. Coatings take the fun out of it! For those that do not think this is fun and form of therapy, then yes, coatings are the way to go.

I'm still on the fence whether to get the CQUARTZ done... While I'm one of those guys that 'tires' from too many washes/waxes, I do like the immediate depth & gloss that the product has. It's just justifying the $1000+ and then adding in some film ($800) to take care of rocks& salt... Well the pricing just keeps moving up! I do like the occasional cleaning & wax as it keeps my on top of scratches, chips etc.
Hmm... Do I or Don't I ?

There are coatings you can also put on at home. I put on the Blackfire coating on my car. It has not changed my washing habit much and I do top it with a wax once in a while. It just gives me extra piece of mind - even if I have no wax on top the paint is still protected - to me that this the main reason I applied the coating. I love the look of a clean car and having a coating is not going to change my wash habit. It just makes it easier to keep the car clean.

After reading your earlier reply, I Googled the Blackfire coating... I was a little hesitant to put that on myself as reviews suggested it had a short workable drying time and I'm getting older! Lol! How easy was it for you? Any extra suggestions should I choose that? Certainly much more reasonable $wise. But, as usual, you get what you pay for!
thanks...

The coating was actually easy to put on - and I am getting myself confused - I am using Pinnacle Black Label - same manufacture different label. In all honesty, putting the coating on was not much harder than a regular sealant. I just like it for the peace of mind.
