Help a young man shopping for his first MB :)

I'm Patrick and I'm from Ottawa Ontario. Like the title says, I'm looking for a new car (my sunfire is on his last leg and thinking of selling my 1966 Mustang) and was looking at MB. Shopping for a diesel (because I heard they were more economical). I went to the dealership with my wife and I was in love with the GLK. Went for a test drive and everything was A1...until I saw/tried the backseat... Standing at 6'5 and with a baby, the GLK was now out of the question. We then spotted a used 2012 ML350 Bluetec. Went for a test drive and we both loved it. Plenty of leg room, a bigger interior and well equipped.
Now, there's something that really bugs me...the price tag.

Here's the link to the car. Now, am I crazy or the asking price is high for a used 2012 with 70k kilometers? Money isn't an issue, but I don't want to get ripped on the price. Is that what CPO ML350 bluetecs go for? Phoned the dealer and asked him what his best price was. He said he was removing 500$ and not budging after that.
What are your thoughts? Should I just stay patient and look somewhere else or is this a good deal? My gut feeling says not in a million years. Sorry if my post seems dumb or pointless, I'm new to the whole "buying/negotiating a MB car" experience.
Thanks for your time and help.
Cordially,
Potrice

good luck, and a Train to somewhere gets pretty cheap in the overall price!

I traded a GLK 250 also because of the space. My 14 has air ride and it is great. It is far superior to a GLK.
There is a 2012 ML 350 at Peterbough MB with 86 k.It is a certified used Benz Diamond white nicely equipped with new tires , brakes and 120 k warranty. asking $43995
Great people to deal with. They only sell fully gone thru and top notch cars.
Micheal Santos is the owner.
DO NOT deal with Newmarket MB if you are searching for a ML in Toronto, you will get screwed!!!!! They do NOT stand behind their used cars.

Again, thank you very much guys. All that help and experience are really appreciated.

The other problem I would have with your 2 link choices is the non MB not having that extra 2 yr 120K warranty.... To me, and driving an MB, warranty is everything, as the costs outside of warranty, can put a gun to your head real quick! The 6 diesel has had a few turbo seals that die, costing $3K+ to replace. (PITA to do) Not something you want to wear...! I do all my own work, but still, warranty with these MBs is nothing to sneeze at. You may try to negotiate an outside extended warranty with the Curbsider, just make sure things are covered. READ THE FINE PRINT! Point to note with Curbsiders.... if it's included in the price, then it may well not include much, outside of an battery....

I guess having one of the four BEST service managers in Canada means something.
I should have bought from them in the first place , but I needed a SUV to go south and they did not have one.I though buying a certified MB from a corporate store was a safe buy NOT!!!!! I did not want to buy a new one.
I ended up with a 2014 18k SUV from Peterbough MB.
I am sharing this so others will not get taken advantage of.
I was going to sue the sales manager personally for my loss , but my lawyer said it was useless, just like the dealership.
I believe in Karma, and I hope it is a BIG *****

Also don't be scared buying out of province specially in BC (Vancouver area) as we get barely any snow and vehicle information is available as the province monopolizes the insurance of the vehicles here so if something happens with a benz 99% of the time it gets reported and repaired on a MB certified shop. There are 4 corporate stores within 50 kilometers here in BC so whatever you see online you can get it through a corporate store except in Surrey and Langley.
Look online and if you find something let me know and I can hook you up with my salesperson that always deals with buyers from the East Coast.
+1 on Quebec cars. NEVER buy Quebec cars!
Don't sell the classic car! You crazy!?

Regarding the 1966 Mustang, I know I know, I'm crazy for wanting to sell it. I rebuilt it from scratch with my dad (so there's a lot of emotional value in it as well) and had a blast with it. However, with a baby, I don't have time to enjoy it anymore. I can't put a baby seat in there (my daughter is 19 months old) and even then, I wouldn't risk her safety. I suppose there comes a time when you have to let your toy go. Unless I throw a blanket on it and store it for a couple of years. I haven't decided what to do with it yet... If I decide to sell it, I would sell it myself because I doubt that I would get the appraised value in a trade in at the dealership.

I doubt if you would want to wait until Jan/Feb/ I am in Illinois. Our respective governments probably make it difficult to cross the border for car purchases/sales.
