you probably won't care... but.. try folding down the X5 rear seats!!~! Is the floor plan flat? No... the rear seat folded up leaves a 35>45* upward angle! A dog crate sits at the same angle as a rocket taking off.... a poor response, but an even worse design for this day... just great for packing FLAT items!

Hey, the thread is here so let's give it some traction and see what's everyone's thoughts are! Put aside the bias of this being a MB board for a moment. I would say X5M. AMG engines are great and sound amazing but as a total package, I think BMW & Porsche have this field (X5M, X6M, GLE63, Cayenne Turbo, RR Sport SVR) nailed down, especially when it comes down to the suspensions. Seems almost as if MB just needed to have a product to get a bit of market share. It's also been noted that MB's safety nannies kick in too early spoiling the fun at times, but how often are these trucks being taken to a track? If I were offered a GLE63 in my price range, no doubt I would take it in a heart beat.

A gaggle of MB's
GLE63 - if both the MB and the BMW were available at the same time - have no idea what would hold anyone back - man, if you have had the opportunity to drive both - close to a no brainer - the GLE63CW4 is a AWESOME driving machine - simply awesome !

I have to say the X5m. Even though I would never buy one I did for the heck of it drove both a few months ago just for fun and I was smiling more on the X5m. I also think the X5m looks meaner than the GLE63.

Well, glad we didn'y shut this one down :-). I test drove both. I want something that can whip me from VT to NY fast - really fast, and comfortable. And on occasion make it up a treacherous hill in ice. (with dedicated snow wheels of course).

The g-wagon sways WAY too much and feels like a demon is driving it some days (it just goes where it wants... towards off the road).

I drove the X5M - wow! BUT it didnt have adaptive cruise control (what?!) and it felt stiff. It also struggles to go between 1 and 24mph. Literally that thing was either stopped or fast!. No in between. So 97% amazing vehicle, but some minor things I didnt love.

I drove the GLE63, again, wow. It felt softer in comfort mode and man did it sound pretty. Id say it sounded WAY better than the x5m. It felt slower than the x5m and more tamed, both in a good and safe way, but also boring. It did not have HUD display.

I am pretty sure I will be in a GLE in 2016. I confirmed it will ship with Apple CarPlay (the code is 16U).
