Doing Service 'B' & have a couple of questions
1) One of the steps is to clean the water deflector. What water deflector?
2) I'm supposed to drain the fuel filter. I haven't been under the vehicle yet... but I assume that is how you reach it. Any clues where exactly it is? Before I start, do I need to buy any plugs to reseal it when I've finished draining it?
Thanks in advance

I'll take a look for the filter again in the engine. I always thought diesels would be less complicated... but there's a lot of ancillary equipment there. It must be under some stuff.

Parts.com has some illustration with pricing on OEM Mercedes parts.
There are others and also dealers who discount parts with same info online. Next post....

Here is water deflector on GL, you may confirm ML but it's as noted by other post here.

Useful for how to find a part and get to it on your car, short of a manual.
I replaced the dust filter (#220 in the diagram), so I'll open it up again and take another look. I did ask the MB parts person, and they thought it might be the rubber seals on the bottom of each of the doors. It's a mystery, but I'm not too worried because everything looks fine on the vehicle
