ML400 Towing Boat

ML400 Towing Boat
My first post! (I used the search function and did not see quite what I was looking for.)
Anyway, we are picking up a CPO ML400 tomorrow and I was just curious to hear how the 3.0l V6 TT does towing. I know what the tow rating is, but was looking for real-world experience.
I had a deposit down on a CPO ML550 for the bigger motor, but it didn't have some of the options we wanted, and then we found an ML400 that had less miles, was a year newer, had more warranty, and was configured pretty much exactly like we wanted (basically loaded to the gills). Everything except the bigger motor.
I tow our heavy toys and trailers with my big diesel truck, but my wife will tow a 4-5k lbs. boat with the ML while I tow the TT when we go on camping/waterski trips. So I was hoping to hear that the little 3.0l TT does a good job towing moderate loads (including over passes).

Wilsonville, OR. Its a sharp rig with about 20k miles on it, black on black leather, but it has stock halos instead of bi-xenons and lacks air suspension, both features we really wanted.

just started towing with a 2012 ml63, the chassis has no issues with it, the boat is 5k and the trailer another 1500...
Does it have the towing package ?
Rear air self leveling ?
Both of these have helped for us, self leveling pumps it up level and the tow package seems to be smart enough to hold shifts longer and disable rear radar so it doesn't beep when the trailer is hooked up

we've been to a couple of different ramps and had to put the rear wheels in the water, no slippage at all...
Very happy so far, with the exception of my wife seems to have claimed ownership....
This keeps up im gonna trade her cab in

Yup, 4matic. The ML400 we got has pretty close to every option. We were looking at ML550s, but the few near us lacked air suspension and the better headlights or had too many miles. So far we are very impressed with the vehicle.
