Mercedes engineering is so terrible. One sensor goes bad and you have to buy the entire intake tube for $1050
i had my kids make this video to highlight Mercedes terrible engineering!

Premature MAF sensor failure, can’t change the part and have to buy the entire assembly. Anyone looking to buy one of these POS cars STAY AWAY. Last month was a front NOX sensor. Btw you need XENTRY to replace any part on this car because the sensor upper and lower limits have to be relearned with most sensor replacements. This is called relearn adaptations. Why anyone would design a vehicle like this is beyond me. Large part assemblies drive the customer cost high to keep Mercedes inventory lower. Relearn required by factory software anytime a sensor is changed, rediculous! Not sure why the ECU cannot accommodate any off the shelf sensor and the limits need to be tightly set to each individual sensor. My advice, stay away from this company!

Cute kids Would be nice if you can confirm what engine you are talking about. I see 1 vehicle in your profile, but lot of people have more cars than profile says.
If you don't like price/service gouging - sign up http://repair.org/stand-up/
It is not just luxury cars. It is modern farm tractors and other machines. So you paying for gouging while buying milk and bread.

Parts to labor prices are getting cheaper and cheaper and that is result.
I am old enough to remember fixing alternator for $3 worth of brushes. Or water pump with $15 seal/bearing kit.
Still voltage regulators are available for $20-60 while going to the dealer you will have to leave 4-digits check for whole alternator replacement. Same with $40 vs $2000 for replacing axle boots or whole axle.
Thanks to DIY I can drive MB very cheaply, but I feel for those who take them to dealers.

Yup i hear ya. These prices i am talking about are with ME doing the work, not the dealer. XENTRY software required to do anything on this car. I had to pay 1200 for a china clone to work on my own car.

$560 for a remanufactured one. When did you pay $266?
