Could someone help me locate the catalyst temperature sensors?
I have DTC P0438 and P0428

Thanks in advance.

Hello did you ever get to the bottom of this issue ? I’ve got the same engine and same fault code I’ve replaced the oxygen sensor and cleared the code etc but it’s reappeared after a short drive

Well a little update tonight thanks to another forum member on a different Mercedes site who pointed out that my s212 E350 3.5cgi using my vin number on a Mercedes parts number site that my vehicle is listed as having exhaust temperature sensors. It’s this sensor that I obviously should have changed in the first place and not the oxygen sensors but hey there done now.
So fingers crossed yours will lost the same so just use this site https://7zap.com/en/ and enter your vin number select exhaust etc etc and it will show your part number needed
let me know how you get on

Fitted the new Exhaust Temperature sensor on the car myself a few days ago on the drive very easy to do and only took a few mins to complete, I’m glad to say now that after a few days of driving I’ve had no fault codes or EML lights on the dash 😊 have you managed to sort yours yet ?

Increase in consumption or in gas mileage. Hell, if the consumption went up I'd slap the old sensor back in and put a piece of black tape over the "check engine" light LOL

Hi to all,
had the same fault code and Ive just changed the Temperature Sensor ( 1 Plug, 2 cables, slightly bent sensor.) and the engine light is off!
I´d like to thank-you for the advice given here!!!
It seems like the fault code is a little misleading.
